...it's a short term gain but long term loss...actually no gain at all as they were already loosing on every piece of equipment they sold out... I think the fat lady is clearing up her throat ready to sing any moment now...they should quit now while they still have some money....anyone checking their (toshiba) stock lately?

@CaptGreedle.

Im pretty sure that wasnt a smear at you per se. I have several friends who played a demo of the wii in a store and had to get it. They bought it essentially for wii sports. They have yet to buy any other games for the system. Maybe those people aren't cheap, but they are definitely not gamers in the usual meaning of the term. Unlike you, these people make up a high percentage of the wii owners. The software attachement rate shows this pretty clearly.

lol @+1. we do need a rep system!

My nephew had a Wii. Got board with it and traded it in on a 360. First 360 lasted about 3 days before the Red Ring of Death hit, the second failed in about 3 months, and the third was traded in for a PS3. He ended up losing the PS3 to the main family TV after the 5 free BDs came. At least I know what to get them this year.

I own the Ps3 and the Wii. I won't buy a 360. Both are great in their own way. I really bought the PS3 for blu ray movies and the wii because it was fun to play.

There was no BOGO, there was a B2G1 and it was for both sides on Amazon, and 15.00 Universal some catalog HDDVDs.

I bought 20 Blu anyways, there are no more HDDVD for me to buy, only new releses from here on out

It's good to see we won again...

but didn't Blu have just as much aggressive pricing on hardware and titles as the HD-DVD guys?

I'll just take the news as we won yet again and wait for the yearly numbers 1st quarter. Then we can talk about the war ending once and for all.

Remember in Transformers when they shot the tail off that Decepticon in the dessert, but it continued to live? HD DVD is a little like that. You need to cut the head off and watch it mouth the words, "30GB is enough" before it finally dies.

Well this is about where they are at now:

My Bluray library has grown by leaps and bounds thanks to these sales, while my HD DVD library has somewhat stagnated.

I love rdjam.

He is always so optimistic. Maybe I'll buy him a Blu-ray disc for Christmas.
