United Kingdom Watchmen, Transformers, Iron Man, Star Trek

New pre-orders up on HMV for the following titles that have already been released, unfortunately it doesnt say what the differences are between the one now available and the new one.
They're all currently priced at £17.99.

Iron Man
Star Trek
Transformers
Watchmen

Well Star Trek and Watchmen both had digital copies, so my guess for those two would be that maybe the DC's are about to expire so they're being re-issued with just the Blu-ray discs. Don't know about Transformers and Iron Man though.

Interesting. All being released on the same day as well.

I don't think they're new issues sans the digital copies because surely they'd be cheaper? A couple of these titles never had digital copies anyway.

HMV listings?

I'm hoping it's not a couple of the same steelbooks that were recently issued for catalog titles in germany, but with english font. If it is, then I wasted a lot of money importing them.

This doesn't make any sense . If they are steelbooks then I thought it would of stated that they are, or have had "special/limited edition in the title. An error on HMV's behalf?

I tweeted HMV about it this morning, to be told that it was probably just the regular versions minus the digital copies. They didn't know for certain though, and were going to check it out to make sure.

Twitter is great for contacting HMV about things like this. Much quicker than email.

I didnt think Iron Man or Transformers ever had digital copies though?

And these must be happening as all of them are also up for pre-order on Play.com aswell with the same release date, but at a higher price of £23.99 each.

Probably just a second production run? Iron Man had been out of stock on Amazon for a while.

It seems stupid that they would go back to the standard Watchmen again, despite having released the director's cut?

Agreed, it would be an odd thing to do, especially considering the 2-disc "director's cut" is retailing on Amazon and Play for a tenner.

I would imagine it's going to be a repacking/special edition of sorts.

I hope it's a steelbook of the director's cut. I've already got the director's cut, but wouldn't buy a steel if it was just the old cut.

I know it wont be steelbooks, but a man can dream.

Cover art is up on Play and hmv now. Seems they're only 1 disc - re-releases?

Nothing exciting then, although I prefer that cover for Transformers than the one I currently have, not that I'll be changing it.
