i agreed cause Beauty and the Beast was the best cartoon movie ever in my life since childhood. But dang other movies are out on the same day.

I dont know you all, Karate Kid was awesome and it covers all audiences. A lot of people already own BatB on dvd. I'm getting both so I hope they both do well.

I've already got Grindhouse and The Exorcist in my possession. I'm planning on picking up Beauty and the Beast tomorrow. Those are the only ones I care about.

Will probably pick up Last of the Mohicans eventually.

The Karate Kid and A Nightmare on Elm Street were both less than mediocre.

BatB is a big evergreen title but I don't see how it can possibly overcome The Karate Kid's new release factor.

According to me. It was simply a lazy cash-in. New character names, a new location, a different style of martial arts(Kung Fu, but it's still "The Karate Kid"

They tried to make it it's own thing while still copying the structure of the original's storyline almost exactly. Why not make an original movie instead of riding on the back of the 1984 Karate Kid?

On top of that, not even Jackie Chan could replace the great Mr. Miyagi who, in my opinion, is the best thing about the original films.

It was just an extreme case of "been there, done that", which in effect made it a boring movie to watch, especially since I didn't care for the character portrayals in this one nearly as much as in the original.

Beauty and the Beast is going to be so cheap! Is it really NOT going to be the top seller? If you have a TRU near you, it´s 7.99! If you don´t, it´s still less than 15.
