One reviewer reported slightly better PQ with the Directors Cut coded in AVC over the unrated coded in VC-1.

I just watched this Blu-ray. The transfer isn't bad, it seemed a little soft though, and it had a light sepia color tone throughout the movie. Still this may very well be the way the movie was intended to be seen. I watched it at the theaters when it came out, I remember liking it but I don't remember how it looked (back then I did not notice such things).

Badder Santa is the unrated version.
I think they also have a reg Bad Santa cover that just says unrated in it.
I wonder if they even still make one that says Badder Santa.

Yeah.. Badder Santa is the longer, uncut version of Bad Santa (longer than the director's cut). Bad Santa is the directors cut that has more than the theatrical release which is not on the disc.

I have the Directors Cut and my brother has the regular one. For some reason there are a few scenes not in the Directors cut that are on the regular one. The scenes that are cut out are hysterical too and should definately have been in the movie. Im not sure about the badder santa version they are talking about, but my recommendation would be to not buy the Directors Cut...

The Unrated cut has many more scenes and much harsher language and content. The director's cut also has scenes that aren't in the unrated version. So, there are reasons to watch both versions.

Personally, I prefer the Unrated Cut.

So there are two seperate video tracks I gather because of two different video codecs used. I guess branching wouldn't have worked in this scenario.

I watched the Director's Cut this weekend and wished I hadn't. The Unrated Cut is much, much better.
