I couldn't find any threads regarding this BD release so here is some information.
![]() And Soon the Darkness Blu-ray And Soon the Darkness Blu-ray Review ![]() Just saw the trailer for this on G4TV and found an announcement for it on High Def Digest. Release date is December 28th and the movie, directed by Marcos Efron, stars Amber Heard, Odette Yustman and Karl Urban. It is a remake of a film from 1970 set in Europe but this time around the setting is Argentina. Last edited by Blu Titan; 01-11-2011 at 12:19 AM. Reason: Added link to review. |

If anyone has this (remake) now.
Could you please tell me if this is just suspense...or did they modernize it by making it violent. I wanna see this (for Odette Yustman) but I don't want to see her get tortured and abused for 2 hours. Thanks any and all. ~LD |

with that cast i had such high expectations and was extremely disappointed how dull this movie was!
although it does pic up in the last 15 minutes, it's done so cheaply that turistas seems like an academy award nominee in comparison ![]() you can give it a rent, but don't blind buy it like i did! beautiful odette [Show spoiler]

I have no problem with Silence of the Lambs. I have absolutely no interest at all in hostel if you can get the analogy. Last edited by Lucy Diamond; 12-29-2010 at 03:15 PM. |

I watched this yesterday through Netflix.
I thought that the movie was decent. I really like Amber Heard so I'll see any movie that she's in. The movie is only slow in some parts. However, plot "twists and turns" are really really really predictable. I originally thought this was going to turn out to be a Turistas/Hostel sort of deal. I was surprised to see that this movie is more of a thriller than horror at all. It's worth a rental and one time viewing, but nothing I'll buy. I'd say the PQ is 4/5. Whenever the camera would show the beautiful forests and such, colors are very accurate and the beautiful views look phenomenal. Once the movie starts getting darker, the PQ tends to get a little soft at times. The AQ isn't anything that will put your sound system to work. However, the dialogue is clear and it's never hard to hear what the actors are saying. The subwoofer isn't ever making itself known, except in music or when a truck is driving by or something. Surrounds are mainly just used in the chase scenes and stuff, but aren't constant. I also didn't hear any audio cracks or pops so I'd give the audio a 4/5 since the track does what it should. I highly recommend renting this before purchasing. Last edited by 28BlusLater; 12-30-2010 at 03:30 AM. |

I'll be renting Stone first, but it looks pretty damn good and has a great cast. I love Edward Norton. |
