Default 20 Million Miles to Earth

Anyone buy this yet? It is on my Christmas wish list, so I didn't go out and buy yet. Was wondering how it looked - first older B&W title that I know of on Blu-Ray - compared to 50'th anv. DVD version.

Thanks.

Mine has shipped, it should be here in a couple of days.

Isn't it supposed to have the colorized and B&W versions?

My dad and I love movies like this, I'm positive he's seen but I haven't. I've seen a lot of these movies, and was actually going to buy this on dvd a month back. Imagine my surprise when I heard it was coming out on blu-ray.

I really hope more than a handful of people will pick this up, I want to see more movies like this released on blu.

I watched last night not a very good movie, but I love Ray Harryhausen's stop motion animation. Aside from Harryhausen's work the movie itself is pedestrian; bad acting, bad direction terrible music score. The PQ is very good and the sound is good considering the age of the film.

No doubt Jason and the Argonauts would have been a more popular choice, but, to film buffs, it's worth the price of admission just to see Harryhausen's work in HD.

I had this pre-ordered at one of my local stores. The clerk I know had watched it the night before (she gets to take movies home the day before release and watch them) and she said that for what the movie is, it was O.K., but not worth the money.

Agreed. That why I am not getting it. Boring.

The Beast From 20,000 fathoms, Jason and the Argonauts would be on my list along with many other Harryhausen movies, but this one just dosn't make it for me.

Very glad to start to see these types of films coming to BD though. A very good sign of things to come.

I got it and saw it (the colorized version). the PQ and AQ is good especially when considering the age. IF the question is on the movie itself, you will like it if you like cheesy older monster movies. I consider it worth the money

I flipped back & forth between the original & the colorized. PQ seemed better on the original B&W to me b/c the colorization made the grain and some film issues a bit more obvious. Colorization always looks off to me in general though. The movie itself is really cheezy but fans of Harryhausen & stop motion animation will enjoy.
