Torchwood is a spin off from Dr Who isn't it? Would I have to have watched Dr Who to know what the heck is going on? This series is expensive, I've not seen a season over here for less than $NZ100.

you don't need to have seen the current dr who to watch torchwood ( but
it would help to understand a couple of situations ) i watched season 1 of
torchwood then immediately had to go buy the other two because i enjoyed
it so much ( and i've only seen a few episodes of dr who over the last few
years )
