So it seems that Amazon pulled the "3D" version of Polar Express and a newer "actual" 3D version is going to be released in November. This will be the third version of Polar Express. Each edition is reported to have different audio as well, the first being standard Dolby, second Dolby TrueHD and latest DTS-MA HD.
What are the chances that the price of the latest 3D version drops to acceptable levels (~$15)? The original is at that level but I would never touch it since it doesn't have HD sound. But I could care less about 3D. Apologize if this question has been asked or topic brought up elsewhere, but I did a search and the finicky system didn't come up with anything worthwhile. Slim to none, probably we have to wait for 2 years...i'll be waiting too, i'm holding off buying the lossy, but it was on sale at Target for 15 this week but not sure if it was the lossy or lossless for they ran out, i would have settled with true Hd... ![]() |

B&M stores may still have the older "anagyph" 3D version. I finally picked it up last year for $15 or so at Best Buy. As you know, it has Dolby TrueHD 5.1, and I can tell you that it does sound superb - worth it over the lossy Dolby Digital 5.1 mix.
I might consider getting the new 3D version as I do have a 3D TV and BD player, but I'm with you that I don't really "need" 3D yet. I love that movie to potentially repurchase it, though! |
