Default New releases Tuesday October 26

Ok, so there were 4 big releases yesterday and i had a chance to play 3 of them. I thought that i might just give you some info on them just in case you where on the fence at all about them.

Undead Nightmare: This is the 5th DLC released for Red Dead Redemption and by far the best so far. First off, they added zombies and they are actually scary and can only be killed with headshots or fire. They’ve made it so that you have very little ammo and that it is hard to come by so you really have to pick your shots. So far the story seems really good (I won’t ruin it for you) and there are some big surprises right off the bat. Then there is the graveyards. This is something that they’ve added to replace the gang hideouts. It is intense running around a graveyard with a horde chasing you while you try to burn all the coffins to “purify” the graveyard. I only played for about 40 min, but am very pleased with what I’ve seen so far. The single greatest DLC I’ve ever purchased

Star Wars TFU 2: I spent the least amount of time on this game, 20 min, however the little time I played was a blast. The force powers are stronger, the physics are better,, and the graphics are phenominal, but at this point in the game (still the first level) it doesn’t seem too different from the last game.

Fable 3: Let me start by saying the intro into this game sucks! It’s long! It’s tedious! And it lasts about 1 hour! That being said, once you get past it it starts to shape into the best Fable game yet. The leveling system is new and very strange compared to the previous games. You accumulate everything into one big pot of experience instead of for individual skills and you choose your “upgrades” in a dream like world where you open treasure chests. I know it sounds weird, but it works really well. Next, is the weapon progression. As you level your weapon, it actually changes in appearance and ability. If you spend your time only using magic, then when you level your weapons they will just appear dull, yet different. Now if you spend your time murdering hollowmen with your sword then it will get a skeletal look and eventually gain additional damage towards hollowmen. Finally is co-op. Co-op has been completely re-done from the last game. You are no longer attached to your friend at the hip and you can import your character into their world. This is very useful for leveling as all experience goes to each character, and you can just run around different areas of the map killing enemies. You can also make very good money this way as you can become business partners with your friends and buying real estate in their world, thus adding to the amount of gold you accumulate every five minutes. My one gripe with co-op is that you can’t progress in story progress in another characters world. To compensate for this though, you automatically gain money just for being in their world. All in all this is a very good game and if you are a fan of the fable series or even adventure games for that matter, this is a must have.

As far as single player gamesplay goes, I still (highly) prefer the original. Fable 2 & 3's combat have been dumbed down so much that it feels like I'm playing a game designed for noobs only. The magic has been way too simplified & the hand-to-hand fighting is little, if anything more than button-mashing. It's really sad that RPGs have come to this.

I have SWFUII on my christmas list along with Fable. I am so far behind right now on games who knows when I will get to any of them. Fallout New Vegas is taking up my time, I have dante's inferno on the way from Blockbuster. God of War III is still on tap along with 3D dot game heroes. I am way behind. December I will be off for a month so I am hoping to knock some out.

Sorry, my instruments are 2000 miles away so i didn't pick it up. Also, I forgot that Sims 3 came out on tuesday. If anyone has played either of those two games, i would appreciate a little review since i am considering getting them.

I am so happy with Fable 3 right now! I've done every quest and side quest available to me up until this point, am at 20 hrs of gameplay and still haven't beat the game!

Much better. The actual gameplay (fighting, running, questing) is the same, but they have revamped the leveling and item managment system in a very interesting way. Also the story itself is much better, and you actually build relationships with the NPC's rather than here is a dance, now you are my friend. Now you do your dance and then they say do this quest for me and i'll be your friend.
