The question is, will any of these new LCDs coming out be able to display 24p? My quess is no, since they seem to be focused on 120hz refresh rates.

120Hz means 120 video frames per second. That means, HD video sources shot using HD 30fps cams will need to be quadrupled - 30 x 4 =120. Video sources at 60i/p would be doubled - 60 x 2 = 120. And film source gets pentapled (if there's such a word ) - 24 x 5 = 120.

Basically, if the new LCDs or plasmas at 120Hz would be GREAT companion for BD players!

Stupid me... I did the math wrong... for some reason I was thinking 25hz x 5 and got 125... 120hz would be perfect for all sources. Hopefully these LCDs accept 1080/24p with no problem.

I always thought 120hz tv's could play 24fps, 30fps etc. without multiplying to view it in 120fps. So this way you wouldnt have gidder while viewing.

I mean, 120hz tv's could adapt itself to anytype of fps.

I could be wrong though.

120Hz means the TV could hypothetically put you in an encephalactic seizure by displaying 120 frames of different photos per second. The TVs themselves are replicating 24fps at home. 1 frame of movie is shown 1/120 x 5 = 0.042 seconds.

You don't get giddy with 120Hz.
