This isn't a Blu-Ray release. You might wanna check the Movie forum, where a thread likely already exists.

Only info I have is that it will be in 3-D and is written by the Todd Farmer and directed by Patrick Lussier (the guys behind My Bloody Valentine 3-D). Scout Taylor-Compton is rumored to be coming back, as is Brad Dourif.
The street theatrical date is October 31st, 2011.
Production stopped on September 29th, 2009 due to The Weinstein Company running out of money. Patrick and Todd said in an interview a while back that they were going to continue once they finished shooting Drive Angry 3-D, which is done shooting and comes out in theaters in February.

This is a really dumb idea for a thread. Especially since it's not about the actual Halloween 3 that already exists and deserves a BD release. As for "Halloween 3D," if its connected to Zombie's bastardized monstrocities, I dont' want to see it.

I LOVED the original Halloween 3. Definitely deserves a Blu-Ray release and would buy it day ONE.

The new one will have NOTHING to do with Rob Zombie.

Only thing returning from his movies are Scout Taylor Compton and Brad Dourif, as far as I know.

I don't know I'll have to research it. All I know is I don't trust Moustapha Akkad's son with the franchise. Before Moustapha was killed by terrorists, he promised fans he wouldn't do a remake because it wouldn't work and it would be impossible to match Carpenter's film. Soon as his son gets the rights after his father dies tragically, though, he proceeds to sell out the franchise in the worst way possible.

......and instead of a sequel to RZ's atrocities, how about a sequel to Season of The Witch (as it was ment to be a 2 parter).

Now some may scoff at this notion, but SoTW has shown that it has legs on home video, and worse movies have gotten sequels/remakes/reboots. The movie could be done relatively on the cheap, and I bet Atkins would do it in a heartbeat.

Edit: It appears that Tom's gonna be in Halloween 3D (according to his wikipedia page).

they should call his character Dan Challis in homage

Although i quite enjoy Halloween 4, for me they never should have resurrected this series after 3. Michael and Loomis are so obviously dead at the end of 2, and the story completed. I just tend to pretend they don't exist after 3, which was a fantastic film in it's own right. Shame that such a knee-jerk "it's crap because Michael's not in it' reaction killed off any chances of a series continuation along these lines.

i have dreadful DVDs of 2 (UK Sanctuary, bought for the original cover art and commentary, but turned out to be a dreadful NTSC to PAL conversion) and 3 (Goodtimes), so i'm hoping that BDs of these cant too far away

Even though this is the wrong forum for this topic I thought I would reply to it. As long as Rob Zombie has NOTHING to do with a Halloween re-make its got to be, maybe not good but has to be better, then I am all for it. But why in the heck does it have to be done in 3-D? Personally I think the Halloween franchise should be left alone now. Hasnt enough damage been already done for gods sake?

As far as I'm concerned michael myers died in Halloween 2 in the hospital fire.
I liked Halloween 3 season of the witch. I think it's a good movie if viewed as a stand alone film. I think it would have got less hate from people if they had just called it season of the witch. minus the halloween tag

I listened to Scout Taylor-Compton talk about Halloween at a panel discussion recently and she didn't say anything about Halloween 3 but it seems like RZ's cast is done with the franchise. Unless of course they are under contract. I read somewhere that Halloween 3D would be another reboot of the franchise with an entirely different cast. Besides if you go by the Director's Cut of RZ's Halloween 2 (which is considered by cast and crew to be the actual finished movie)
[Show spoiler]Laurie is dead and cannot come back

Count me in as a Halloween III: SOTW fan. Just watched it the other night on AMC (guess what song I've had in my head the last few days? ).
As for the forthcoming film, if Rob Zombie isn't involved, I think they should in essence reboot and move away from the universe he created.
A more traditional slasher film would be cool by me and Lussier seems like a good candidate for it.

That's how they want to do Halloween 3. A reboot of the series and try to wash away what Zombie did to the franchise.

I recall in an interview with Scout Taylor-Compton last year, she mentioned that Halloween 2 was not well-received and there was talk that if H3 was made, the events of Halloween 2 would turn out to one big dream sequence, but without Rob Zombie directing, she admitted her and Malcolm McDowell wouldn't be too keen on coming back.

I would sure hope that if they make another Halloween film that it goes back to the OG series i.e pick up after the last real Halloween film Resurrection.

Maybe sense his career is pretty much over they could get Josh Hartnett and maybe even Paul Rudd back for the film.To tie all of the Halloween films together.Sometype of storyline with Josh Harnett try to find and finally kill off Michael Myers for his mothers death.Have him track Myers around the coutnry while Myers goes after Paul Rudd and his grand nephew.Which all leads to a finale showdown in Haddonfield.

Call it something like Halloween:Revelations or Resolution were they can end the Halloween series off on a good note and tie all of the films together.

bty the Rob Zombie remake and sequel suck ass.

That sounds cool I really hope we get a resurrection sequel to end of the Halloween story once and for all.

I just watched Halloween 3 the other day. I remember liking it when I was a kid but it's unbelievably bad. But still, Im pretty sure it will still be better than any Rob Zombie remake or whoever else is making this new one.
