Canada Cheap quality steelbooks

Just seen all kinds of new steelbook blu rays at future shop, and all of them are smothered in french. Also they dont feel as good quality as normal steel books, they are thrown together it feels like. They had kill bill 1 and 2, sin city, and gangs of new york. All with french on the spines, and they were squishy like a cheap metal. Made in Canada obviously, because my watchmen steelbook with no french on it feels great.

They're the same as any other steelbook. Its just that most other steelbooks already released have been heavier since they're typically more than one disc + insert(s).

They are definitely of lesser quality, I can feel it in each one of them.

You should really voice your opinion here: https://forum.blu-ray.com/blu-ray-mo...ok-discussion/

I am certain that you are mistaken..

+1 rhy, they're the same casing as any other steelie CR/TM by steelbook.com variance would be inner materials and external paint. these alliance titles all have single disc and flat/drab paint finish, and no paper inserts.

If I didn't own some of those films in HD, I'd be all over these... Or at least the ones with good artwork (Don't really like the front faces on Memento, Sin City & Law Abiding Citizen)

the only difference I saw so far is the plastic wrap so it's not really the Steelbook itself...

They are of less quality for sure, telling what I feel.
They dont really feel quite right compared to other steelbook releases (Star Trek, Watchmen, D9, Pixar)

Even the spine feels like its lesser quality. I felt all of them, and I compared to a Toy Story steelbook with no french on it, and it was much more durable and comparable to other steelbooks I have bought in the past. I wouldnt buy one of these new ones.

Well there ya go right there, those Toy Story 1-3 metal cases are actually Ironpacks, not Steelbook. Different manufacturer. Compare it to another steelbook that contains only 1 disc.

You realize of course that most of the apparent "cheapness" is apparently due to the French text that keeps being mentioned.

This thread has an eerily familiar tone and feel to it.

Well ... the Sin City Steelbook has 2 discs ... but that's not the point. The point Rhylliam is making is that all these Steelbooks are make by the same people who made all the other steelbooks (D9, Star Trek, etc ...) you collect. They are honestly exactly the same and weight exactly the same. I bought 4 of them, Kill Bill 1 & 2, Law Abiding Citizen, Sin City, and all are of top quality and are exactly the same as previous Steelbooks I have collected.

LOL you guys are funny. They are exactly the same. Only difference is the artwork and number of discs.

Get over the billingual spine. If you want to complain about a spine, take a closer look at the ironpacks. Now thats what I call cheap.

I will still take an Ironpack over a regular amaray case but if anything is cheap quality it's the Ironpacks.

How true as some of these collectors ***** and whine about the bilingual spine. They are made for CANADA. Don't like it, don't buy it.
