I'm sure he meant unintenionally. I passed on this one in theatres because it got terrible reviews from critics and RT members alike.

Oh I meant it intentionally. What started off looking promising quickly became a cliche fest and with terrible direction and photography.

Having said this it was a fairly enjoyable movie with a few great action pieces. Even though the best sequence was ripped from Casino Royale. I would recommend that people rent/netflix it. I was glad my cousin bought my ticket for this one.

i actually ended up liking this movie and will get it day one.
what makes me laugh though are those terrible quotes on the cover:
"as cool as ocean's eleven" & "the best plot and cast assembled
since american gangster"

ok, ocean's eleven was pretty cool, but doesn't compare to takers
whatsoever. as for american gangster; best cast assembled??
who besides denzel washington and russell crowe was even in that one!?
takers especially rips off heat and one scene was just straight
out of true romance, but i thought it was done quite well.
even though idris elba will definitely never compare to deniro in heat,
he is actually pretty cool in the movie.
again one of those style over substance flicks, but i really enjoyed
the set design of the apartments, houses, etc

plus with sony i'm pretty sure the transfer will rock.

Just finished watching the Takers Bluray, and this film was great! Its a heist film so its similar to many others, and the director says he got the inspiration after watching Heat in 1994.
Audio and video on this release is fantastic, will most likely get a 4.5-5/5.

Oh, and pics or it didnt happen right ?

so i watched this last night...wasn't expecting too much from it. while the chris brown chase scene is stolen from casino royale, and other scenese seem repetetive from other movies as well, the over all feeling was a good one. the acting one was good EXCEPT one key person. T.I....what the hell you should never act. idk if it was his gangster thug accent or what, but everytime he came on screen i found myself utterly annoyed. everyone else was on key tho. hayden christiansen played his character really good. i wouldn't spend more then 8 bucks on this tho.

I really enjoyed this movie. Although character development and extraordinary acting are not Takers' calling cards, it was definitely a fun, action-packed 95+ minutes. The transfer and AQ were excellent as well. I would definitely recommend this movie to someone looking for a fun heist movie.
