I doubt I will be buying this as I already have all 5 seasons of '24' on the DVD format. They already look great on the DVD format, so I'm pretty reluctant to buy them over again.

Even though I've replaced a few movies on the DVD with BD, but I don't see myself doing that with my TV boxsets.

Seems legit. That would be amazing, 24 is one of my favourite shows.

Welcome to the forum. Nice first post. This is good news. I've been wanting to check out 24 as I have never seen it (believe it or not) and this gives me a good opportunity to experience it in HD. Sweet!

That's freaking sweet!
24!!!!
I'll replace the four seasons of 24 that I already own. Season 5 is the first one I haven't bought on its release date because I knew it would be eventually coming to Blu-ray.

I actually have never watched it even though I own the first two seasons on DVD because I knew it would eventually be released in some form of home high definition format.

I'm just hoping they keep the price ~$50 because any higher I just couldn't be able to bring myself to purchase it.

I think the third season was the first in HD.

Since it's shot on film, the first and and second could be re-telecined to HD, if it wasn't already in HD then downrezzed for broadcast. Hopefully they'd rework the sound to true 5.1 as well.

And best of all they're starting from Season One. I hope Lionsgate do the same with The Dead Zone (another great tv show).

Love '24' a great deal, but I'm going to have to see how much Fox is going to charge for a set. Since they are the most expensive when it comes to their Blu-Ray titles, I'm a bit wary of a box set from them (that and the fact that I have all five DVD sets so far).

Still, nice to see them coming to Blu-Ray.

well, the 5th season of Smallville on HD-DVD is running for $80, which includes 5 discs... can I assume that it will be around that ballpark?

Season 1 of 24 was the only season released without a 5.1 track, so for that alone I'll want to re-watch it in addition to seeing it in glorious 1080p of course.

It's the end of the year and there's been nothing more on 24 on blu-ray since this early Jan announcement. Vaporware?

I think it's a :

HOLY CRAP Dual Layer Company trying to breath some air... HELP US....

Until BDA can output 12M disc per Week, you won't see TV serie raining on HD. Those take 6 DL per boxset and just eat up too much of the ramp.

Wait a little, They are still building some replicant machine over the world with DL capability so it should ramp up and Major will be able to order more..
