Angry Amazon.com

Ordered Eyes Wide Shut back in October and Amazon claim it shipped on Oct 26th. Now here's the crunch - Expected delivery 17th December to 6th January.

Why mention it now you ask, because I just emailed Amazon to clarify how come it taking so long - Response usual BS of it can take anything from 9 to 36 days! or package lost etc. Also because UK delivery no tracking available?

Now how the hell can it take so Damn long? Hell we can get to the moon and back in less time

I will say normally they have been good with delivery making it within 2 weeks despite their estimated times Something not right with this one Ploy to take money early?

Sort of rant over.

amazon shipped 4 titles yesterday, it's due 18th. Seems reasonable with the huge package stream going over the world in December.

Would agree, except it seems to be just this one title For instance Close Encounters shipped on the 12th November and arrived by the 28th November, same situation with 2001. So all shipped much later, but arrived earlier.

But this title

Anyone else had problems getting hold of Eyes Wide Shut?

so you ordered from amazon.com (us) and shipped to the uk? was it the only thing on that order? customs can hold up and inspect packages over a certain value. if there were other things shipped with eyes, maybe it got flagged for inspection? I know amazon has kicked ass for me lately. i've ordered several titles, an sacd/dvd-a player, and a bunch of othr stuff, and most have shipped in a few hours, and arrived in 2 business days even though I pick the free shipping.

Yes, shipped to UK from Amazon.com. Actually the original order included the above mentioned 2001 and The Descent, which were all shipped separately and received at various dates last month

Having your input prompted me to look at the original order and shipping notification for Eyes Wide Shut, I now note that arrival estimate on the shipping notice was 28th November So Amazon saying wait until the 17th Dec before contacting them again seems strange.

What's my best next move? Wait?
