United Kingdom Is the UK likely to get a blu-ray release of The Walking Dead : Season One?

Just watched episode one of 'The Walking Dead' and loved it. I'm just wondering if the UK is likely to get a BD release? It looks like Starz/AnchorBay will be releasing it in the US.

Could go either way, but it seems to be getting a lot of media coverage so fingers crossed. I hope so though!

I hope so, the pilot was really enjoyable so I'd rather just buy it here rather than importing it.

It probably will be, I love the Pilot last night, though I wasn't a fan of it's ending

Loved the pilot, Friday nights are now all right with The Mentalist, The Event and The Walking Dead. Home release is miles off I'd imagine but hopefully it will arrive the week after the series finishes like some of the other shows. I'm still waiting for Castle to be released on DVD. Germany has had it for ages.

And don't get me started on the Office we're years behind.

Season one of Walking Dead is said to be 6 episodes, so I'm expecting a release just after Christmas. Fingers crossed!

I have a feeling that AMC will commission another 6 or 7 episodes due to interest, and a 13 ep season would bring it into line with other AMC shows like Breaking Bad and Mad Men.
So a Season 1 part 1 set before xmas perhaps.

It was nice to see the pilot without any commercial breaks last Friday. Is episode two going to be the same?

I'll be surprised but delighted if this is released this year.

My new favourite show, i've seen the second episode and its fantastic! I don't see why it won't be released in the UK.

The first series ends next week. When does everyone think we will get an announcement?

Love this show. The US release is slated for March 8th 2011 and is being handled by AMC and Anchor Bay so it's my guess that AB will get this out pretty sharpish in the UK.

as its only 6 episodes it cant be more then £20 I think.
12 episode True blood goes for £30 a season so £20 is about right for nearly half the number of episodes.

All the writers have been let go so season two will be a fresh start, the later episodes have had some serious criticism regarding the dialogue and plotting but I've loved every minute of it so far, the pilot episode set a pretty high standard. Six episodes is too short a run I would have loved thirteen.

I love how amazon has reviews already for the DVD's/BD's I wish they'd stop letting reviews of products that don't exist yet been posted.

True Blood's RRP is £49.99, thirty pounds is the discounted price (although it's been about for £18 which is the magic number for a lot of boxsets) unfortunatly for us the number of episodes doesn't always have a bearing on price (see Doctor Who as an example).

The writer thing has been nixed as a rumour.
One of the writers got uppity at Frank Darabont staying on to be more hands-on than originally expected. So, he left to do another show, where he would be in control more.

Personally speaking, they should fire them all.
After the excellent pilot, the following 5 episodes were disappointing as hell.
