New Line/WB has rights to LOTR unless something has changed

Yup they can release it without MGM doing anything. More than likely we won't be seeing these until the Hobbit gets released in Theaters.

Hm, I just wouldn't want any with an ugly design.
So yeah, if the artwork in general isn't any interesting
or if it's infested with "blu" (you know how they sometimes "promo it up"),
or... things like ratings-logos, at least when they're too huge.
Or, for example, I like the German 'The Lord Of The Rings'-SteelBooks,
but as the titles are in German I just don't like that...

So, any with a bad design I wouldn't ever want basically...
I'd only go after a SteelBook-version of a film on BD if I actually like the case you know.
I wouldn't just get it BECAUSE it's a SteelBook.

If you wonder which I find horrible or something like that...
Well, I just mentioned 'The Lord Of The Rings', but I don't think it's horrible.
I really dislike most with blu-bars... unless they kind of blend in...
I'm not fond of the 'Batman Begins'+'The Dark Knight'-SteelBook for example,
where you have both covers 50-50 on the front, PLUS a bright blu-bar.
I'm sorry, but that's quite a bad design right there...
Even though I love the films.

I just like my US-"Giftset" of "Begins" and UK-sleeved "Dark Knight" a lot better.

Last Christmas I got my gf the Best Buy exclusive New Moon Blu-ray steelbook. No inside cover art, the outside cover art is pretty plain and its a bare bones blu-ray as well.

There are a ton of them. I do not want any steelbook that I do not like the movie. Iron Man, Reident Evil Trilogy, and Predators are three of the best looking steelbooks out in my mind but I would not want any of them because I think the movies are just average. I do not hate the movies but I do not want to own them. If I catch them on cable some time that is good enough for me.

i hope i never own any movie i dislike just because of the steel. i only want good looking steels of movies i like and are also in english or no writing at all. i hope i never cave and start buying these german releases and all that. time will tell.
