A blog? No offense, but I'd like to see something more authoritative than a blog backed up by one of our own threads.

I am glad to finally see some more aggression on the hardware side for BD. It's long overdue IMO. I hope this goes through Christmas and I'd like to see one or two other players, maybe from Panny and Sony, hit that $299 range.

I don't think anyone is afraid of a cheap Samsung player. Of course, that is what gave the display business to them.

I know it's a blog, but I found the part about PS3 owners interesting, being a PS3 owner myself. I think the Blog is a good summary of the current state of HD.

Edit: Looks like the topic got moved. I assume because because of the title? Hey, I just copied the title of the article. :-)

I own a Ps3 and have purchased about 10 BD movies. I havent picked one up since Paramount but once Sony makes it obvious BD will win I wll begin again. Before Paramount got bought off Sony had it in the bag and it was safe to buy, but I am still a little leary due to the desperation tactics and deep pocket books at MS.

Head over to amazon and see for yourself, It's true, I just looked.

It's too bad it's the samsung, after reading the thread about unhappy bd 1200 owners I would say samsung needs to get it's act together.

The nice little panasonic 1.1 player the bd30k is selling for 419 right now too. Not bad at all and likely a better player than the Samsung.

I know I wouldn't hesitate to put down the extra 100$ for 1.1 and upconversion. It's a nice looking player as well.

Refreshing for once to read a pro-BD article, even if it is just a blog.
