An historical film. It would be quite the undertaking for Criterion or KINO. Don't know if it will ever happen.

I'd buy it in a heartbeat. I'm waiting for more silent classics to be restored and re-released on bluray. Unfortunately, it's been slow to happen.

I'd love an uncut, original copy on BD.

I'd like very much to see this one on BD. But I think it would be important have some supplementary material (especially an audio commentary by a Griffith scholar or silent film historian) to give context to the film, its history, Griffith's intentions, etc.

I also think it would be interesting to release Birth of a Nation along with, or in the same package as, Oscar Micheaux's Within Our Gates, since Micheaux's film was a response to Griffith and incurred just as much outcry as Birth of a Nation.

This is something I think either Criterion or Kino could successfully undertake but the market may be too small. Personally, I'd hope for Criterion since Kino doesn't usually include significant extra material to their releases (to the degree of Criterion, I mean).

If we do see its release, I'd wager that it'll be in four years for the film's centennial.

I'd rather see some other Griffith first. Broken Blossoms or Orphans of the Storm. I'm assuming Kino still has the rights, so maybe they eventually will release a blu-ray version of the Griffith Masterworks boxset.

On the subject of Kino's silent boxed sets, both The Art of Buster Keaton and The Movies Begin boxed sets would be more than welcomed by me
