Default What movie genres are you into?

Hi everyone.

What movie genres you watch most and which ones you enjoy most?

I, for one reason, enjoy almost any type of movie as long as its a good movie.
I enjoy Sci-Fi, Action, Drama, Horror, Comedy, Melodrama, Musicals, Fantasy, War, Animation, Stop-Motion, Thrillers, Westerns, Anime, Classic movies, International movies...... in other words all type of movies.
The three genres I enjoy most are S-Fi, Horror and Comedies though.

I'm into every genre, lol. I could have voted for every option on the poll, but I felt compelled to narrow it down. I went for:

Adventure
Drama
Horror
Romance
Thriller

Smile I like most of them.

I'm a huge fan of horror movies, but there are not many good horror films on blu. I really like action adventure movies. I watch movies to escape, so a good mindless popcorn flick does the trick. I hate westerns and romance movies, although I 3:10 To Yuma, and Tombstone. I also love foreign films, especially Asian films. I like a few family films, but those are mostly the ones I grew up with, and I really dislike sex in films, so there's no chance of that. For me it depends on the movie itself, not so much the genre.

Sci-fi comes first. "Star Wars," "The Matrix," "Akira," "The Terminator," and many many others really excite me. Some of the classics like "A Clockwork Orange," "The Day the Earth Stood Still," "Metropolis," are favorites too.

Action comes next. Indiana Jones, James Bond, "True Lies," "Die Hard," and many others are always a thrill to watch.

Historical epics would come next (and they're not on the poll, dammit). "Gladiator," "Braveheart," "Seven Samurai," and many others are great.

Fantasies next, usually grouped with the epics above. "Lord of the Rings" is my all-time favorite (not enough to put the whole genre to the top though ). I do enjoy other fine fantasies on occasion.

Horror would probably come next. Whether something great like "The Shining" or something trashy like "The Human Centipede," I tend to like all kinds of horror flicks.

Comedies come next (although I haven't been watching much lately). Favorites include "Monty Python and the Holy Grail," "Life of Brian," "Zoolander," "Spaceballs," and more.

Everything else would go from there. I like certain war films, but not a huge amount. Dramas can be a hit or a miss, and I certainly don't feel like watching them all the time. Film-noir pictures need repeated viewings for me to appreciate them. And I only like a fistfull of westerns. Some musicals are good too.

I ended up choosing everything but Sports and Western. I'll watch the occasional Western, though, but Sports movies bore the hell out of me.

my favorite genre of films are by far and away Dramas (Fight Club, There Will Be Blood, Hard Eight, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (also romance), Vanilla Sky, The Lives of Others (also foreign), Garden State, Apocalypse Now, Boogie Nights, Punch Drunk Love, Magnolia, Michael Clayton... i could go on and on...)

Foreign nice to see it's on the list (The Lives of Others, Revanche, Closely Watch Trains, Persona, Sin Nombre, Elite Squad, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo... so many films that a million times better than most of the U.S. junk that comes out)

Horror (The Blair Witch Project, The Mist, 28 Days Later... many more, although horror is also home to some of the worst movies ever made. double edge sword i guess)

Sci-Fi (another genre that has it's fair share of crap, but also classic like 2001: A Space Odyssey (best sci-fi movie ever), Moon, Donnie Darko, Sunshine, District 9, and of course many more)

although i enjoy anything from any genre, i tend to avoid sports films, westerns (even though "technically" There Will Be Blood and The Assassination of Jesse James (both personal favorites) are westerns). they just don't interest me.

It really sucks that I posted 2 options of the same Sci-Fi in the poll.
It turns the poll results into complete mess.

Is there anyway that moderators can fix it?

I literally can't watch Horror anymore. Though I'm somewhat of a hypocrite when i'm aiming "Skyline" up for theater viewing..(Apparently there is a Brain eating Vagina monster according to one review)

I'll go to anything that has the potential to have awesome sound to it haha.

I do enjoy the odd Rom-Com here and there.

"It's Complicated" with Alec Baldwin, Meryl Streep and Steve Martin was my most recent, with surprisingly nice sound to it..good music!! and a good laugh scattered through out .

but Sci/fi and Fantasy and Action FTW.
