Seems too early for ME3. Look at Arkham City. That was announced at last year's VGAs (almost 4 months after Arkham Asylum came out) and they're doing ANOTHER reveal of it at this year's show. I'm hoping it's either a new IP or a ME spin-off. Also, BioWare has said that they'll be releasing more DLC that "bridges the gap" between ME2 and ME3. Why announce ME3 now when only one of those "bridging the gap" DLC has been released?
