Online Gaming - Computers and PS3?? - Blu-ray Forum

Hey Guys,

A buddy of mine is tryign to tell me that since he plays Call of Duty on his computer, that we would be able to play together online since I play on the ps3. i didnt think this was possible. Can anyone give me any info on this? Thanks.

It depends on the game. Only certain games let you play each other on different formats. I think the only game I can think of was Unreal Tournament 3. I may be wrong though.

No, CoD is not cross compatible between PC and PS3, or any other console for that matter. Same with UT3. There are very few cross compatible games out there. Shadowrun for example, has 360 and PC players fighting together. Also, the Colonies edition of Lost Planet has cross compatible multiplayer.

UT3 was supposed to be cross platform, but they put a stop to that.

on another note.....games SHOULD BE cross-play allowed.

I think DC Universe online will be. Not quite CoD though.

No, they announced that it will be on seperate servers for the PS3 and PC.

Oh, I missed that. I'm in the PC beta and was thinking I might like to mess with it on the PS3 from time to time.
