  • Two-Player Co-op – Players can join a friend or family member in the same room for two-player drop-in/drop-out cooperative action

Haven't been too fond of the LEGO games thus far... at least, not fond of the demos. But, this one could force me to at least give it a rental before coming to a final decision.

Default LEGO Pirates Of The Caribbean Debut Trailer

http://multiplayerblog.mtv.com/2011/...debut-trailer/

Quote:
Fans of previous LEGO games should be pretty familiar with the style of play, which offers co-op platforming, puzzle solving and building mechanics, all of which have been staples in this new era of LEGO games. We'll be putting the "Pirates" game through its paces tonight to get a better sense of what to expect in terms of new mechanics, so be sure to check back for more info.

So, I'm assuming this will just focus on the first three movies, right?

Yup.

The game, which is scheduled to release this summer on all major platforms, will include familiar characters (including Captain Jack Sparrow, natch) and will focus on the events of the first three movies.

THIS IS AWESOME!!!

Lego is pretty smart. Current example is Lego Ninjago! For $20 you and a friend (when you are 5 to 10) can have battles that are fun and not too violent for kids.

Lego Ninjago!

Love the PotC movies, and Capt. Jack and friends will likely be hilarious as Legos.

Thanks for the FYI!

BTW: My 5-year-old is a Lego genius (you should see the things he builds), and many of the Lego games are a little violent for that age. The only exceptions are Lego Star Wars and Lego Harry Potter. I hope Lego PotC is also not too violent. Punching is the main culprit. Can't see Capt. Jack using his fists too much!

It's being released at the same time as the next film in May this year, which is a first for the series, and covers all four Pirates films, from Curse of the Black Pearl through to the forthcoming On Stranger Tides.

"Cover" and "focus" are 2 different things. Lego Indiana Jones 2 covers all 4 films but focus on Crystal Skull.

This actually sounds pretty cool. So far, the only LEGO game I really got into was the Star Wars one. That was awesome.

I liked the other Lego games, so I will probabaly be picking this up. Looks to be really fun, unlike the other Pirates games that were duds. Hopefully the Pirates RPG coming out this year will be fun too.

I've actually never played a Lego videogame, but I did LOVE legos as a kid. Heck, if it was socially acceptable, I'd still be buying legos
