Still waiting for the Special Edition with all of the extras. It is bound to be released sooner or later.

I believe Sony lost the rights to it. I'm not sure but I think someone like either Lionsgate or Anchor Bay has the rights now.

A steelbook was recently released in Canada by Alliance.

Although if I trust my eyes it was not referance quality for sure.

Yep. Lionsgate acquired a few Newmarket titles, this being one of them. Hopefully they'll get a S.E out soon.

The Alliance CDN disc is the same as the US Sony one. It is available here in 3 different versions:
-1-Disc Standard Amaray
-1-Disc Steelbook (newest)
-2-Disc BD/DVD Combo w/ lenticular slipcover

So ignorant...

Here's one example. Alliance re-released "Traffic" after Universal released their flipper disc. They used the same transfer, menus, extras, etc. as Universal, but gave the BD and the DVD each their own disc. As a person who hates flippers, I'd call that better.

Agreed. I'd grab this in a heartbeat if they included all the extras from the prior SE.

Makes me glad I got it in 2008 for $10, the fact that Hot Rod is going OOP means I will probably never get it unless they re-issue it.
