Default HD DVD PR Machine in counter-offensive

Looks like HD DVD camp continues to sponsor some "scientific" research in order to influence the public perception. Here's one I came across this morning on the CDR_Info site:
http://www.cdrinfo.com/Sections/News...x?NewsId=22049
These "scientists" claim that the second wave of HDTV adopters are favoring HD DVD, and their main factor is that this new wave of HDTV owners are typically young and have limited budget, thus favoring the HD DVD. I suspect that possibly most of those young potential buyers meant "upscaling" players rather than true HD DVD players. I hear this all the time when people refer to the upscaling SD DVD players as HD players.

And they don't have damned thing that's concrete, authoritative, or specific to back up any of that rubbish, as usual.

Such studies are not done and then sold, but are initiated by a client, and we all know the first rule of consulting....

Wonder who paid for this piece of work?

Hate to break it to the egg-heads. The 20-30 crowd has the most disposable income. No kids and most leaving college earn some coin and are most likely to spend it frivolously.
