Default No more Disney princess movies? (Debunked)

Quote:
Just days before the release of “Tangled,” Disney shocked the world by announcing the film would be their last fairy tale princess story. But while there was much wailing, another, more positive milestone has been somewhat overlooked: “Tangled” marks the studio’s 50th animated feature.

We know what you’re thinking: Surely Disney has made more than 50 movies, right? And it’s true, they have. But if there’s one thing Disney knows even more than animation, it’s how to protect their brand, which is why they’ve designated some of their features to be official classics and others — like “The Jungle Book 2″ or “Pete’s Dragon” — to be, you know, just something they do on the side for giggles and grins.

To celebrate the release of “Tangled” and this impressive milestone, we thought this would be a perfect time to review and rank all 50 official Disney animated features. Let the subjectivity begin.

Wait what about Enchanted 2? Disney cant just stop making fairy tale movies forever though, even if it's just once in a while. They'll probably come back with a fairy tale princess movie ten years down the road.

This was already confirmed to be wrong and Disney is still doing animated princess movies.

Angry So typical.

That list sucks, it read like a lot of the disney animated movie lists I've read, in terms of where the movies are placed.

...Wait, this is a NEW thread??

It's been a week and a half; good lord, how many times does Ed Catmull himself have to shout this dopey bit of LA Times sensationalism down? How many other fan sites are going to pick up the ONE article without updating it??
Quote:
http://www.facebook.com/Disney?v=wall 11/21
Disney A headline in today’s LA Times erroneously reported that the Disney fairy tale is a thing of the past, but I feel it is important to set the record straight that they are alive and well at Disney and continue this week with Tangled, a contemporary retelling of a much loved story. We have a number of projects in development with new twists that audiences will be able to enjoy for many years to come. - Ed Catmull
(And why? Because the LA Times reporter wanted to "explain" why he thought Princess/Frog didn't do well, and a week ahead of time say "See, ha-ha, told you!" when Tangled clearly wouldn't do any better...Ohh, of course not!
When people make the news they want to believe out of their own uncreative imaginations, that's called an urban legend, and it's just as dopey as Frozen Walt, the $500 Mrs. Fields cookie recipe, or Marilyn Manson being Mr. Green-Jeans' illegitmate son.)

Yeah, the hunchback makes for one ugly princess.

Err, wait, she might be referring to Esmeralda's character. Still not a princess though!

She's a gypsy princess and I like her a lot but she doesn't count though, not sure if Megara counts either since Hercules gave up his crown for her.

Oh yeah no duh. I was listing the movies in the order that I like them the most. The website listed the best Dinsey animations, ito. I think their list sucked, so I made a short one of my own. I guess people didn't click on the link.

Can't believe it's only 1 in every 5, always thought it was a lot more, adjusted my list accordingly.
