Default Collection: Under 100 Support Group

I am rather new to Bluray collecting and I get overwhelmed whenever I see someone's collection reaching into the hundreds. I enjoy seeing other people's collection, but it makes MY collection look pittyful.

So, I decided to start a CLUB / THREAD for those of us who want to join a support group of other beginners like ourselves.

We can grade each other's collection, discuss our new-found love and apprection for Bluerays withuot being laughed at from all these seasoned pro collectors.

Only rule is....once your collection reaches 100, it's time to move on to another club.

That's a win/lose situation. LOL.

So....who's in?

You got some good titles there in your collection. How long have you been collecting?

I got my Blu-ray player in 2008. So far, I only have 64 purchases even though it says 69 on my side over here under my details. I've bought a few double features which is why. I limit myself to what I want to buy on Blu-ray. I like to get my movies cheap.

LOL. That's actually part of the goal, to move up with the big boys. But we need our own cheerleading team until we can do so.

We can even do a countdown to 100, then throw a sad farewell from this thread.

I have over 1,000 dvd's, but now that I have Bluerays and a new 64 inch HDTV and home surround sound system, I dont ever want to watch another DVD again.

Whenever I got to teh REDBOX to rent a title, my family gets upset if I pass on the dvd's until the Blueray is available.

Why go backwards when you can view it in it's BEST? LOL.

Well I'll be in this club until I'm kicked out next week when I will add Inception and The Pursuit Of Happyness to my collection.

I began buying Blu-ray movies before I bought my first Blu-ray player early last year. I had 13 movies up to that point plus 4 others that came in free with the player. I was extremely happy to have this new technology and I loved it. I ended up buying 53 movies last year and 45 movies so far this year. Unless Blu-ray movies regularly go down to $5, I doubt that I will be joining the 200+ club anytime soon. I have the movies I wanted the most, although there are still another 30 movies I do want but still don't own, and other movies that aren't available on BD yet but I do want.

I love repeating my movies so I'm very happy with my collection.

Good club

Hey, you gotta start somewhere. I started my collection in June of 2008 and by the end of 2009 I was over 225.

Good club
Well WELCOME, even if it IS for just a week, LOL.

Congrats on perhaps being the first to make it past 100. I dont plan on being here TOO long, but I'm not gonna buy Blues JUST to be having blues.

I need to be selective about which titles I'll be adding, since they're not all so cheap Just the cream of teh crop for me. OK, a maybe a few more IF the price is right.

Man, I would say DISNEY is my FAVORITE blueray company They SERIOUSLY know how to make em look AWESOME!

Considering how rare it is for me to pick up a title during the non-Holiday season, I'll be in this group for ages. I don't buy just to buy (minus a couple of those $5 lightning deals), but I instead look for specific titles that I know I want.

Interresting collection. You have several titles I've never seen. Good luck on building it up.

Yeah, Disney has great releases but since I really didn't see many disney movies as a kid, at least the animated ones, my Disney collection is limited. I'm very excited about The Lion King Blu-ray release and I will purchase that one. I also am looking forward to Peter Pan, the main Disney movie I watched when I was a kid, and Finding Nemo (just because it should look great).
