Where can I try Paradigm studio 100 v5 in NYC metropolitan area

Hi,

I've been to their 2 dealers in the city and they don't have it in their showrooms !

Since I've read all the best things about it I'm about to buy the system but I need to test it first!

Umm, I dont live in NYC, so I am not of any help that way, but let me ask you;

Have you auditioned anything else?

Will you be using this system with music at all?

Budget?


reviewers and owners of their speakers will always gloat about their speakers, Heck I do it too, so you have to AUDITION as much as you can, and see whats best for you.

yes, b&w 800 ... definitive technology/8060/mythos ... martin logan ... Budget for speakers is about $5500
I only liked the def tech but I dunno the bipolar thing made me confused since my room is about 23*13 .. what i've learned that it's kinda small for it? I dunno.. I want to invest in speakers so I won't change them in 5 years or so.... and of course I loved the b&w but they are definitely out of my league now

is that $5500 for just the Right and Left, or all 5 speakers?

Either way, you need to open up your auditioning to more then just what you have limited yourself too.

Check out Focal, Dynaudio, Revel, Dali, Totem, Linn, Quad, Usher, Monitor Audio and anything else your dealers have in your price range

FWIW, and not taking anything away from any other speakers you or I listed, but don't judge the speaker by what the price tag says....

That is a good budget, I would suggest that you audition everything you can get your hands on. At that price lots of speakers sound very good, but you will know your speaker when you hear it. Paradigm makes excellent speakers, and they have a reputation just like B&W, but don't just shop based on brands you know or on a price tag budget, you will be short changing yourself.

What is your Zip Code? So I can find it on their website or just go on Paradigm website and look for dealers with Reference lines.

I found another one (below) and I emailed them and yep they have in their showroom ... Paradigm's web site just didn't show other stores close to my zip code other than ones in Bowery st. and Duane st.

LP Scream, if you don't mind an 1 1/2 hour drive, there's a place in Bethlehem, PA, 45 Warwick St, Bethlehem, PA 18018, (Digital Future)! Call them before you get there and tell them the set up you like to hear! Uhm, tell them I sent you if you like!
