Canada buying my first two steelbooks

Hey all, im going to order two steelbooks from amazon.ca.. the reason im going for two is to get the free shipping..

I want to get sin city, as i've never seen it and the cover art is stunning.. can anyone suggest me another steelbook that would be great? i know there usually just the same movie.. but still some might be better than others.

Well, if you don't mind bilingual spines, then get it, haha.

Also, I have just looked at your pictures.

Can I make a couple of small suggestions?
1. You shouldn't rest anything on your xbox 360, especially if you have it laying horizontally as you do. It's blocking the vents, which could cause it to overheat quicker, costing you more in the end.

2. You might want to invest in a better storage arangement for your blu-ray dscs as excessive weight, especially that of other blu-ray cases, can damage the cases themselves. You should prop them up vertically like you have with your xbox game cases.

Food for thought.

Thanks for you input.. my set up is nothing like that anymore.. the xbox is gone.. got a proper stand for the three racks of blu ray storage where they are sitting next to each other.. and a 5.1 system.. i need new pictures! hahaha i'll go take some right now.

just go into this understanding that buying Steelbooks isn't a one shot deal. The first one hooks you and there's no looking back. Amarays just aren't as appealing afterwards.

Plus, you'll find that your bank balance will plummet dramatically if you really want to catch the addiction.

and that is the worst part of it all. You know it's an expensive hobby, but the allure of those precious steel cases is too much to ignore. It be calling me mane, it be calling me, like Pookie in New Jack City

A bit of advice.

Only buy steels if you really like the movie. Otherwise, yes, those are perfect steels to start with.

I suggest Inception! After you get a hold of inception..u'll never look at another amaray again. If you live in Canada? I suggest you go to a Futureshop and hand pick your Steels instead. You might not have OCD at the moment. But you will soon!

It depends on the movie genre you prefer.
If you like horror - Pans Labyritnh
If comedy - Shaun Of The Dead
If good action - Kill Bill
If thriller/drama/mystery - Memento

V FOR VENDETTA
THE DARK KNIGHT
A HISTORY OF VIOLENCE
SIN CITY
THE DEPARTED

Those would be my top five from the recent Warner/Alliance SteelBook rushes.

My suggestion is run far far away while you still can especially once you start seeing all the great international releases

My favorite looking steels just in general that have come out lately.

- Inception Germany or US/CAN version, they both look amazing
- The Departed - great movie and the steel is just amazing
- V for Vendetta
- Sean of the Dead
- Sin City
- Memento

If I could only pick 2 of the ones on amazon.ca to get as my first two, then the ones I'd get would be Sin City and either The Departed or Memento. I'd probably try to get these 3 since I wouldn't be able to decide, and then I'd pick up Inception as number 4. Actually, I'd get Inception first, then do the order on Amazon.ca.

Welcome to the club (well, once you hit that Submit Order button that is)! Seeing as how you are picking up Sin City to watch, I'm going to guess that you won't be keeping them sealed. Trust me when I say that is a good thing, because once you go down the dark path of keeping them sealed, there's no turning back. You'll then have to either buy two SteelBooks or pick up the amaray as well as the Steel just to enjoy the film.

I'd order 3 if i were you. I ordered two and it came with a crappy wraparound box which ended up crushing my steelbooks. Not sure if anyone else had this problem.

how i collect is i only buy steels of movies that i like and that look good. they also have to have only english or nothing on the back with no uk or ger logos on it lol. a bit picky but i'm very happy or else i'd be so broke it wouldnt be funny. i do however have 1 steel with the germany logo and thats rocknrolla but the back and front are identical so i just use the back as the cover lol. enjoy collecting and those movies are great to start with. i'd persoanlly get the 300 steel to go with sin city but thats just me.
