PS: The receiver you have the link up for would not be able to do this. You need to get a higher end receiver with more HDMI inputs. AND DONT FORGET TO MAKE SURE IT DECODES THE LOSELESS AUDIO CODECS (which the one in your link doesnt). Last edited by DealsR4theDevil; 12-13-2007 at 10:34 AM. |

I don't think that it makes much sense to go with the product that you're considering. First off, it has no HDMI inputs at all so it's basically obsolete even before you buy it. Also, the upconverting DVD feature is useless since your PS3 will already do that for you.
My suggestion for you, taking into account that you said money is tight right now, would be to go over to Best Buy and take a look at some of the lower end receivers that have some HDMI inputs and outputs. You won't get one that will handle the advanced audio codecs, but I think you can get one that will maybe just pass the HDMI video signal thru the receiver to your TV and maybe do some basic decoding. You should be able to find something that you can afford. Just need to add some speakers. Even with cheap speakers I think you would be happier with this kind of setup than with the theater in a box that you're looking at. Hope that helps ![]() |
