Default Using SD Cards for BD live

I have the Panasonic 85 player. I really don't use BD live although more and more of my discs have it, but I was going to get a card to go with this player.

I seem to have a problem with bookmarks and I'm wondering if that is because it has no internal storage. Bookmarks worked fine on a couple movies but I had a few others that have shown the bookmark worked when i set it, then going back later, it is gone. I'm wondering if that is due to no card being in there and the first movies took up any available room. I don't know how that works.

Do I need to get an ultra speed card or will a cheap one do? I can get a Sandisk 2gb for $10 and I have 2 BB rewards cert so it would be free. Do I need to go with the SDHC Ultra?

This link should answer your questions about SD cards and the Panasonic Blu-ray players.

Thank you. That is the card I was looking at buying. Do you happen to know if that will solve the bookmark problem or is it not related to the lack of memory?

Bookmarking does not use the SD card. It should use the internal memory of the player.

This player states it doesn't have any. Do they mean there is not enough for bd live but it has some for other functions?

The player is just notifying you that there are not any bookmarks set. You have to set a bookmark for that message to disappear. Bookmarks are for marking your favorite scenes on a Blu-ray disc so that you can access them in the future with a few clicks of a botton.

I did set one though. I was watching Elf last Saturday and set a bookmark. It showed on the screen that I had set it at approx 10 minutes. I had to stop the movie but I didn't even take the disc out or turn the player off and when I went back about 20 mins later, there were no bookmarks. I assumed I must not have pressed the button but I tried it twice more in 2 other spots and it did not save the bookmarks after pressing stop. I assumed it didn't work because of the lack of internal memory. It must be the disc though because I tested it on another movie tonight and it worked the way it is supposed to.
