I rented this the first day it came out and enjoyed it. Not sure how many times I'd watch it though.

The PQ is absolutely AMAZING. Detail and clarity is perfect. You can see every detail on screen so well.

The AQ is what you'd expect. Nothing that you will demo your sound system on, but the dialogue is clear and is never overpowered. The subwoofer was mainly just used in the music (which wasn't very much at all). Surrounds were used for ambience and some cars passing.

I agree. I have been watching it like a hawk waiting for a price drop. I saw a used copy of it 1 time for $20 but I wont bite for anything of $15. Watched it in theater when it came out. Movie was slow but I want it just because of amanda.

Thank you! Yea Thats why Im not in a hurry to pay $25 for it.. I might watch it once a year. Good to hear the PQ is top notch tho, it makes the entire movie that much better.. AQ, I was already guessing this 95% dialogue driven movie wasn't gonna be anything spectacular

wowzers, that is pricey!
i wish their was some type of scale as to why some titles rarely drop in price (like Zodiac and how it always hovers around $28) because this makes very little sense.

good movie by the way. although i saw it on dvd so i can't say much on PQ
don't know how much replay value it would have, but was better than i thought it would be

Yeah, I was considering buying it, but if I ever did, I wouldn't pay over $9.99 for it.

The PQ is definitely reference quality. It's strange, but most Sony Pictures films are expensive. They had a sale a while back where they sold this for around $17.99 I recall, but then it shot back up to $23.99.

The price is justified. IF it goes down, great!

Weird how that works out.. Ill be roaming the isles of BB and see movies that have maybe sold 1000 copies in its lifetime and its still $29.99 and never drops in price..

But then again, Transformers ( first one ) STILL 95% of the time is $27-30.., then it might drop to 20 on occasion

Bleh..

They are gonna massacre a descent film with a crap sequel that probably wont gross over 20 million.. I think I recall the American Pie decline doing something just like this

A friend of mine picked a used copy on dvd for $15 from block buster. So I am guessing it will me a while longer for a good price.

I'm curious to see how it compares to the original. Amanda Seyfried is no Emmanuelle Beart, though.

It was $15.49 during Amazon's Black Friday sale, but I would say that might still be a bit expensive. I like both Amanda Seyfried and Julianne Moore, but there are just too many things wrong with the movie, and it simply does not work very well. Creaky devices to get the plot moving and a ridiculous ending, but most importantly I felt they didn't show enough to explain or fuel the characters' motivations, and consequently it wasn't believable.

I picked it up for $12.35 from Deep Discount when they had a sale I believe back in September. I thought it was worth that.

Best Buy has it on sale this week for $14.99, .50 cents cheaper than the lowest price on the Amazon tracker!

I agree she's no Beart, but she's pretty talented in her own right.

If anything, I'm more concerned about the slump Egoyan seemed to fall in. Exotica, The Sweet Hereafter, and Felicia's Journey were all phenomenal films. His films since then...weren't...

I have to strongly disagree with you. Where the Truth Lies and especially Ararat are very strong films.
