Default Charging Panasonic 3D Glasses

I just hooked up my TV last night. I got the rechargable 3D glasses. The insructions that came w/ the glasses say to hook them up to the TV via the USB cables.

Can these be charged any other way like plugging into a computer via USB or any type of USB charging station?

Anyone know about this?

Secondly, on the Panasonic rechargable glasses, how long should 1 charge last? Should I recharge after or before every use?

I'm not sure about recharging the glasses on a computer. I would imagine like most electronics with rechargeable batteries, the best thing to do is use the item until the battery is drained before you recharge it, and make sure you fully recharge it.

If you hook them up to the TV, just charge them until the red light goes off. Then they are ready for approx 20 hours of use. The manual says they will charge when the TV is off, but I can only get them to charge when the TV is on.

My manual says not to try to charge them with anything other than the TV. I don't know if a computer would hurt the battery, but I am not going to test it out.

I have the starter kit that came with 2 pair of the rechargeable glasses, but I needed a 3rd pair. I picked up a pair of the battery model after trying them in the store. The ones that run on battery fit over my regular glasses better. They come with 2 different nosepieces, but the manual suggests not using a nosepiece at all if wearing them over glasses. That works really well for me.

Yes, you can use ANY USB socket to charge them, all USBs are universal.

It's probably a ferrite core (sorry, didn't find a better link right away).

So if you go to the panasonic help for the gt25 tv in the faq there it specifically says that its ok to charge them via any other usb device.

http://www2.panasonic.com/consumer-e...C-P50GT25.F#ts

This is the link its faq #3 just for reference.

I am really impressed with the newer style glasses i charged my two sets weeks ago when i got my 50st30. With many 3d viewing of movies and tons of games being played they last me 2 and a half weeks so the 20hrs the books says was an understatement. I'm glad i went with Panasonic because the quality of the display and glasses are phenomenal. To think i use to be straight up lcd guy and now i'm forever a Panasonic Plasma guy.

Default Newer glasses much better

I just picked up a 55" panasonic that came with 2 pairs of glasses one set in the box with the tv and avatar blu ray,and luckily they didnt have the other set in stock so i had them mailed to me they are less then a ounce 26 grams they fit better, and are much more comfortable,I do not know how long they last yet either set battery wise but,Lets just say the ones that came in the box with the tv are guest glasses
I think they all need to have more lens height they are a bit skinny, laying down you have to slide them down your nose like some old persons reading glasses. One other thing is the inside of the lens facing your eyes are too reflective i can notice my eyes looking back at me kinda,i dont mind muc but i wish i didnt notice it.

Here is the text of a chat I had today with Panasonic support on this question:

"System: Welcome to Panasonic Chat. A transcript of this chat will be emailed to you once you disconnect.
Agent Erick C says: Thank you for contacting Panasonic. How may I help you today?
Customer Joe says: I just bought the Panasonic blu ray player Model DMP-BDT210. I own the Panasonic 3d glasses model TY-EW3D3M. Will I be able to charge the glasses in the blu ray players usb port?
Agent Erick C says: Yes any usb port will charge the glasses."

The bold is mine.

I have the Panasonic TY-EW3D3MU glasses and recharge them all the time from a computer usb port. There is a red light that will go out when they are fully charged. It is important to give them a charge right out of the box before use. This is best for good battery life.
