Default Panasonic to introduce two new Blu-ray Players

In the news section of 'The Absolute Sound' magazine, Dec. 2007 Issue, is the following article. Take note of the "last paragraph". Anyone have any idea of what these two new Blu-ray players will offer as features? [Jim]

"December 10 – It appears as if Panasonic is making a significant move in the HDTV/HD player market this holiday season.

Certain large retail chains, including Best Buy, are offering $500 discounts for Panasonic’s 42-inch and 50-inch plasma TVs when you also buy a Panasonic DMP-BD30K Blu-ray player.

This Blu-ray player is listed as around $500 in price already, so this deal will essentially throw in a decent Blu-ray player for free when you purchase select Panasonic 42-inch or 50-inch plasma TVs.

Of course Panasonic may just be trying to make some room on the shelves for two more high-end Blu-ray players that they have slated for a January release."

I'm curious too -- they would have to be at least profile 1.1, that much we can know for sure.

a BD Live player and a profile 1.1 player that has onboard audio decoders.
That would be the only logical release over the BD30

Profile 1.1+ player w/ internal audio decoding of all dvd/hd codecs and the ability to remember where you stopped the movie after turning it off... please.

no kidding Rustmonsteru on the memory of the stop place!

It's probably also going to have built-in memory rather than relying entirely on the home user to buy a SD card...

It's been a standard feature on dvd players forever. Why backpedal now?
