Hi
Can anyone recommend me a/some true HD video cameras that record directly on to Blu-Ray BD-R disc & are True HD size (1920x1080px24)? 1 i've been recommended isn't full HD (720/24p only)- http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/cont...ategoryNavigat Cheers, - Steve |

Sony makes them, I also think Panasonic and a few other CE companies make them, however they are in the professional range, statring price in $20,000 park. Many even have higher frame rates available to them than just 24 and higher res than 1080p. However they don't go straight to Blu ray disc as in a camcorder. I'm unaware of any domestically available 1080p camcorders, no matter what they are outputting onto.

The ones i was looking at were in the $15k range so i was expecting them to be expensive. It'll eventually be for my profession so you get what you pay for.
The 24 frames per second was what i was told was the best. I'm aware of 30 & 60 frames per second, but was advised to go for 24. Is the more frames the better then? (as you can tell- i know sweet f.a about this stuff!). Also, i only said 1920x1080p because i was also told that is the max size for HD televisions without getting a projector. He said the studios film on 5000x5000x60 & then compress it using HD-SDI or MPEG-4 (??) to "fit" a HD TV screen which is 1920x1080 resolution. I haven't been seaching that far for a HD TV as of yet because i'm in no position to go ahead with any purchase, but i thought 1920x1080 was standard HD TV size so if i got a camera which records that size, there'd be no need for compression. I know of the Ultra HD which is 7680×4320x60, but that'd be pointless to put on a standard size HD-TV, surely? Last edited by Rivera213; 01-13-2007 at 03:10 AM. |
