Dude,
I definitely recommend getting the Mits 65", that's what I have. It's phenomenal. The Panasonic one is great from what I've seen but look at the size difference. You won't be disappointed with the Mits...

While I don't own a Panasonic, I did view a few demos of it. And I'd say that you should stick with the Panasonic. Not only do you get Full HD 3D (Minus Half-Resolution 3D from DLP TVs), but the 3D quality on it is very good.

Say what you will about things like half resolution, but I have previewed the Panasonic and the Mitsubishi. The picture quality is equal. I went with the Mitsubishi because it was 65" and it cost me 809.00. At this point it is a matter of choice not because one is actually better than the other. As far as I'm concerned the Panny and the Mits are the two best out there. You can't go wrong with either one. Where size is considered Mits makes the biggest and when you watch 3D , trust me, you want it as big as you can get it. Small 3D suffers every time.

I would suggest nicely to the wife that she won't be disappointed going with the Bigger Mitsubishi. I will send you a link. Right now the 65" Mits 3D HDTV is 1,098.00 at Amazon and the 3D kit is like 387.00. So right there you are saving money and getting a bigger TV.
Here is the link.

I think you will be happy with either TV in the long run. I just like to see people get more for their money. Good luck.

Nothing at all. I've had the TV for like a month now. Watched a lot of 3D and it looks great. Now I have not gotten things like Clash of the Titans because I know how bad that was in theaters. I know it'll be bad on blu. If you do decide to switch and get the Mits, you will not be disappointed. Also the glasses are lightweight and fit nicely over prescription glasses. I also see almost no difference with the picture getting darker with the glasses on. I keep the TV on bright and never set it to brilliant. The wife and I are very happy with the TV.
As far as the Panny I did not see any when I checked it out in store nor have I heard anyone talking about it as I have heard with Sony's and Sammy's.
Hope that helps.
The good thing is if you find you get a headache from 3D you don't have to use it. 3D is something that will become a standard feature in all TV's eventually I think, but you are not forced to watch it that way.
I have had a lot of people ask me about it and they actually think that a 3D TV is 3D all the time and they say they will not buy that. I end up explaining that it's a feature only.

Realize however, that's the old model. Here's the new one.

Nevermind my post, really not that much difference, just a few less features.

According to the MITS site, the 638 isn't getting the 3D firmware update yet.

LINK: http://www.mitsubishi-tv.com/3Dupgrade.html

You need the newer 738 or 838 models.

I was all set for the Panny 3D (50") until I thought about how viewing in 3D can "visually shrink" the TV. That's when I started looking into the 65" Mits solution (738 model).

Another factor for me is timing. I don't want to spend much on 3D right now because IMHO this is one of the worst times to buy a 3D TV due to price, tech advancement. But I don't want to wait a year for a new TV. The Mits solution seems like a good compromise while I wait.

Oh, and I'm thinking playing MAG, Socom 4, KZ3 and others will look better on a 65".

It's no big deal we aren't getting a firmware update. I have the Adapter and emitter hooked and it works flawlessly. You def can't go wrong with a Mits. I'm super happy with it.

Yep. I went to BB recently and there's NO WAY I'm settling for 3D on a 50" now. Going Mits DLP all the way. The 65" is what I'll most likely get (738 model), but that 73" looked great. Wish the jump in price was a little smaller though.

To me, this is the perfect solution for someone like me that wants a bigger TV and 3D but doesn't want to get screwed in this tech transition period.

Waiting for Super Bowl to score a deal. Can't wait.
