Default Finally - FFIV remake on the PSP!

Anybody else excited about this? FFIV and FFIV The After Years on PSP with beautiful redrawn 2D visuals (a la the FF1 and FF2 remakes)!

Best portable remake since the stunning Lunar: Silver Star Story!

I can't wait for this. I know there was a 3D remake for the DS (which was solid albeit pretty ugly), but I'd prefer my 2D games to be remade in 2D, to preserve the original look and feel. Now, 3D games on the other hand (like FF7)... those can be remade in 3D!

Am I mistaken in remembering that FFIV was previously known as FFII in North America on the SNES system?

Either way, I started playing FFIV The After Years on the Wii several months ago but never got very far into it. Looks like I will be buying it a second time so I can have it on my PSP.

It was yes Mouse but now I kind of wish I hadn't sold my PSP, would've loved playing FFIV on it.

I wish you could play the PSP games you download off of PSN on your PS3 (assuming of course you have a PS3 and that FFIV Complete comes out on PSN).

I'm very excited for this one. A nice 2D version of FFIV. But it makes me sad that decades later we still don't have FF III, not really. There's the 3D two screen weird version for the DS, but that's a pretty far stretch from the original.

Please put out III for the PSP too. (Heck, and V and VI too I suppose)

agreed! Although, I wonder how they'd redo FFVI since its look is a slight departure from FF 1-5.

What do you mean? It was just they typical slight graphics overhaul that the rest of the games (until 7) got. I'd probably look forward to FFV most, as I really enjoyed it, but never played an official version of it. This link *is* just for the Japanese release, right? I really hope it makes enough money that they release it stateside!

I'm sure it will. Every other FF4 release from recent years made it here.

I just thought that FF6 (with its Mode 7 graphics or whatever) had a noticeably different look from FF1-5. FF4 and 5 were basically interchangeable in terms of visuals. Similar to how Dragon's Quest 6 advanced the look of DQs, FF6 advanced the look of FFs (while still maintaining a similar feel).

Also, you have to assume that this game will make its way stateside. I mean, FF1 and FF2 got the domestic treatment and they are arguably not even as close to as popular as FF4.

Well, I'm still sad that I and II are available for Download on the PSN in Japan but not here.

As to VI, there were some minor changes - not as drastic as the changes between VI and VII, but I don't see how that would change bringing it to PSP.

Wouldn't it be delightful to have I-IX for the PSP?

Nice! I'm glad I held off on buying the DS version and buying After Years on the Wii.

no doubt it will be. Even if it's a download on PSN, you can just download it to a memory stick.
