United Kingdom The Warriors

I'm a big fan of the original theatrical cut of The Warriors. Thankfully I have this version on DVD. Is there any possibility Paramount might release this version on bluray as the director's cut is pants. If they have both on one disc that wouldn't bother me. I just prefer the original, as the new version ruins the film imho

I haven't heard anything, but I agree with you about the director's cut. It looks awesome on blu ray, far better than I would have thought, but all those comic-booky-cuts are dreadful.

I don't think the comic book stuff and odd intro (was that in the original?) ruin it but it's all a bit unnecessary.

glad to see there's a few more fans of the original out there. the DC was just awful. painful to watch with all those crap cartoon scenes added. I'd really wanna see the original version on BD. I do have a copy of the TV cut as well which is interesting.

I've always been tempted to purchase this on Blu-ray, considering the transfer has been highly praised, but like you guys, the fact that the superior theatrical cut isn't included puts me off.

Great film!. In Spain we still don't have it on BD. Can anybody confirm if the Spanish audio is Latin spanish or castillian spanish?

Adore this movie!

I'm ashamed to admit I have owned the Blu Ray since release but never watched it. I have too many movies and not enough time. I bought it to add to my collection due to my fondness for it.

So the scenes are interupted with comic strips/Cartoons? I may have to watch this over the weekend now.

OFF TOPIC: but they really need to release The Wanderers on Blu Ray!

Yes there are a few scenes that have been comic stripped

You really need to give the Blu-ray a watch sometime in the near future

yes definatly need the wanderers! The warriors blu looks good, i had the new version on dvd, the comic scenes dont ruin the film but are definatly not needed, they should have just had a branching option on the disc.

have you seen the Outsiders? I just got that yesterday, have not watched it yet though.

Yes the Outsiders is superb. Alot of fans don't improve of the new intro etc on the Complete Novel Edition US on dvd, so on the Blu Ray it is an added extra, so at least you have a choice whether or not you want to watch it. The picture & sound quality are also great for such an old movie. There were complaints that some scenes were a bit waxy like the Predator Ultimate Edition but I didn't notice myself.

I'm very pleased that Rumble Fish is out next month & the Steelbook, is an added bonus

Theatrical cut on Netflix US as well.

Love the film, hate the Director's Cut!

Agree. The transitions are unbelievably awkward, they just stop the film dead in their tracks, I wouldn't mind if the effort gone into them wasn't so half-arsed and stylistically jarring, especially when it comes to a film like this where the style is so important to the whole thing.

We also need someone to bring The Wanderers out on blu.
