Default Great movie final scenes

What do you consider to be the great film final scenes or endings of all time?
The ones that resonate and stay with you long after the curtain has come down.

For me, it would have to be the final scene in The Godfather. Michael Corleone has come full circle and is addressed for the first time as "Godfather". Kay watches from the other room as the door is slowly closed, shutting her out. In one moment, she comprehends what her role is to be "married to the mob".

Great stuff. Anyone else?

The ending of The Mist is fantastic and stays with you. I also really liked the ending of 1408.

[Show spoiler] The whole dancing Transformation and then death is simply perfect

Assassination of Jesse James : The End scene is fantastic.Love how Robert Ford seems relieved that his day has come.

The end of Return of the King(about 1 hour long ) is the greatest movie ending I've ever seen.

My favorite is watching Mad Max walk off into the sunset at the end of "Beyond Thunderdome."

Casablanca -- the most perfect ending ever

Toy Story 3
-- I didn't think this movie was quite as good as the 2 previous films, but the ending was a killer.

Can't be a great ending if it only works one time, great endings work again and again, at least I think so.

The Mist...you still think about it after the movie is over.

Gone Baby Gone...has a parent you ask yourself what would you do.

Hard Candy...wasn't gonna end good from the start

One of my favorites is the ending of BACK TO THE FUTURE, PART III, where Marty and Doc are reunited with the time train, and the whole trilogy's main message is summed up in one sentence: "Your future is whatever you make it, so make it a good one."

I'm also a big fan of THE MASK OF ZORRO (the sequel, not so much), and the epilogue with Alejandro, Elena, and the baby Joaquin still makes me smile.

Combine two of your favorite films (Treasure of the Sierra Madre and the Shining) and you're close to what "Blood" is. See it.
