I have no idea but I am guessing that Karate Kid III did not fare well at the box office so I am guessing they think they will not sell well on Blu-Ray so they did not release Karate Kid III on Blu-Ray

Unfortunately, probably not. "The KK Part III" was by far the best of the series in my opinion, but the general public (and critics alike) labeled the film as being exceptionally poor. I think Sony figured it wasn't worth bothering with (actually, I think the real reason is that Sony was secretly afraid Thomas Ian Griffith would look so good in hi-def, that nobody would ever want to watch any film in the series besides "Part III.") As it is, "The Karate Kid Part III" DVD is of fine quality and will more than suffice for fans like myself. However, I've said it before, and I'll say it again...I wish Sony had only released "Part III" in hi-def, rather than the first two films...

To an extent I guess...But I actually love the film, no joke. And I'd take "the Karate Kid Part III" anyday over every film that has ever won an Oscar for Best Picture. Thomas Ian Griffith's performance probably ranks in my Top 5 (certainly Top 10) of all time...

He played the smarmy 80's capitalist(at least according to some...) perfectly. The way he took such pleasure in finding small out of the way countries to hide his chemical/nuclear waste, joked with his secretary(who isn't as innocent as she first appears) about bribing government officials and dropped everything to spend a few weeks screwing over an old man and a kid... for fun.
