How Many Times Do You Visit A Movie In A Year?

On average, how many times do you go to the movie theatre in a year? I go depending on what the movie is, if I truly can't wait until it comes out, I'll see it in theaters.

I'm interested to hear how many times you guys go in a year.

I'd say maybe 2 or 3 times a year tops. It's just too expensive anymore. Not to mention having to find a babysitter.

If I do go. I usually go to a matinee on a weekday. Less people, less crowd noise and my son is in school.

Yes, I'm a bitter old man. LOL

normally i see 2 movies in the theater a year on avg.

in 2011, i plan on seeing @ least 6.

I went 9 times this year. Our local 9 plex has slowly but surely been re-tuning the speakers and replacing the subs in each cinema and sound on average 34 x better than my 12 year old Onkyo master piece ..I don't drink or smoke so putting some pennies aside for viewing which is likely a good couple of months in between is my treat to me.

I am fortunate as i have a friend who manages a Cinema so I can go for free 90% of the time and can see movies before there official date.


If I have to pay it is 1 or 2 times a year for the big summer blockbusters or a really anticipated movie but can grow to 4 times a year.

With the free trips it would be more like 10 - 15 times a year

I go about 30 times a year....yes i said 30...I love the movie theater experience escpecially since they built a dine-in theater near my house

I only go when I'm invited. That usually means once or twice in a blue moon.

10-15. Last year was incredible, though. Hit much more than usual. I just love the experience of going, especially at midnight showings when everyone's pumped. I get why some people don't like seeing movies in the theaters, but I personally love it.

With the rising ticket prices I am down to maybe 10 to 15 times a year. I was at one point around 5 years ago going to 50 to 60 a year. I used to see everything I could now I just see what I can't wait till Blu for.

I hate the idea of paying good money to sit next to people with zero consideration for those around them. Only takes 1 in 50 to ruin the evening if they're noisy enough.

Last movie I saw was Tron Legacy and the kid next to us had a large box of Nerds candy that he snuck in.... and rattled that crap into his mouth for about 45 minutes of the flick. After paying 30$ for me and my wife to see it in IMAX, it just further solidified my opinion of theaters.

I still love the theater experience. Im fortunate enough to have a newly built theater with nice sound and video. Unfortunately I dont get to go as much as I would like to. Last year I went about 5-8 times. But I really only go to movies that I really dont feel like waiting for to come out on blu.

Goodness that's a lot, I usually go about 30 times, mostly during the NFL off-season when I get a bit tired of the super marathon I do.

Last time I saw a movie in a theater was January of last year when a friend of mine took me to see Avatar in Imax 3d as I just didn't have the cash or a way to get there. But a few months ago me and my boyfriend got a place and once things get a bit more situated financially we will go whenever there is a movie one of us wishes to see.

As recently as 6 or 7 years ago, my GF and I would go at least once a week. More recently though, with a majority of the films/theaters these days being crap, maybe 3-4 time a year only. I enjoy my HT more and more that I ever did the theaters.
