Personally this is how my reviews look and will continue to look and be:

The Last Airbender (Best But 3D exclusive) Blu-Ray Review:

Picture Quality:
Presented in 2.35:1 using the AVC codec The Last Airbender comes to blu-ray 3d. Note: The Last Airbender was not filmed in 3d; rather it was converted once the film was completed and this blu-ray can be played back in both 3d or 2d. Detail is strong throughout and colours take on a natural appearance through most of the film. The exceptions to this is when scenes are heavily tinted blu in the spirit world and flashbacks of Aangs time with the monks which feature a slight red tinge. Given that your 3d tv does not struggle with blacks there is very little black crush present and ghosting is minimal (outside of one egregious moment of the p in paramounts logo). No film damage is present and aside from some banding and the ghosting previously mentioned there are no other digital anomalies present.
Depth is present in nearly every shot throughout, and when it is not present it is the result of very little depth being present in the scene due to the enclosed space the scene takes place in. Some scenes are so convincingly converted that one would have a hard time telling them apart from material shot natively in 3d. There however some issues, at times characters take on a more cardboard pop-out appearance, and those wanting to see objects flying out of the screen at them will be left in the cold. I personally feel that the depth that the 3d here provides for makes it superior to the 2d version.

Audio Quality:
The Last Airbender comes to blu-ray with a 5.1 DTSHDMA soundtrack. Detail is astonishing throughout and voices are clear throughout albeit they are centre channel heavy. The LFE channel is just as impressive and is used in a less aggressive fashion then many recent blockbusters but is no less impressive and helps in creating an immersive experience. Likewise the surrounds further help create the immersive experience that is present in this soundtrack and are used heavily albeit in a natural fashion. Speaker separation is also strong which allows for several incredibly immersive scenes. From the more subtle ambient affects to the more aggressive action set pieces The Last Airbender surround use is simply breathtaking. James Newton Howards score must also be mentioned which is excellently reproduced here and as always is an absolute joy to listen to.

Special Features:
No special features are included in this release.

The Film Itself:
When The Last Airbender was released earlier this year in cinemas it was trashed by critics, after viewing this film I find that a notable amount of their complaints are truly unfounded. Whilst The Last Airbender is far from the greatest film made, or even the best summer blockbuster this year it will likely have its younger target audience grinning from check to check and aside from some terrible acting by Jackson Rathbone, performances are generally solid. Pacing never lets up, which provides for plenty of momentum but does not allow the characters for much breathing room and little character development outside of Aang and the Prince is present. That being said The Last Airbender does feature both a spectacular and emotionally satisfying finale yet sadly hints at a sequel that I’m unsure will ever come.

The Verdict:
Featuring a good 3d conversion (albeit generally far from what would be seen in a film shot natively in 3d) and an excellent audio track The Last Airbender 3d blu-ray would come recommended as a rental due to the disappointment many have expressed with the film. However as a best buy exclusive renting The Last Airbender 3d blu-ray is not possible. I would still recommend giving the 3d release a chance and not let the overly negative nature that plagued both the film and its 3d transfer upon its release dissuade you, and personally fell that the film was not given much of a chance due to fans backlash against inevitable changes that where made from the source material and unfounded hate towards M Night Shyamalan.

Note: I can confirm that this blu-ray plays in region b players as well as region a players.

Come on, 95% of user reviews have no real substance. If you like a movie, give reasons why it was good. You're opinion is invalid as a reviewer unless you state the reasons that you thought it was good.
Much like a persuasive essay, being against a side, but giving no reasoning for it will get you nowhere.Go into more detail on the picture quality as well. State the aspect ratio, amount of grain, depth to the image, fine object detail, encode used for the transfer.
Also with the audio and extras, go into detail.
There are so many amateur reviewers on here and it applies to pretty much any movie or game site that allows user reviews.I'm sorry, but unless you get your act together, your so-called "review" is useless.
I like this post.
It is good.
There are a lot of worss but not much grain.

Any feedback on my reviews are welcome. I know in the past I've made some reviews that are totally dumb, or had inaccurate information, or were unreasonably biased.

These days I've stuck with this formula:

Quality:
(discuss picture and sound quality in one brief paragraph. Could even be one sentence if I feel the quality is perfect. Extras and packaging could be added in their own paragraphs)

Film:
(judged based on entertainment value, story, cinematic value, and optionally intellectual/emotional impact. Usually takes up 2-5 paragraphs).

Chris, I know I can play that game too, but it wouldn't help at all; to the contrary it would make things worst, and that's the last thing I want here.

Sooooo, the best and most peaceful solution for all is to be honest (which I made some errors in the past and that I don't want to repeat, and no matter what my good intentions were, because it is always about how other people perceive you, and for some forgiveness and uderstanding ain't part of their life), and I simply decided to not use the system of reviewing as it does not truly reflect the good intentions of the reviewer because of that system of critics that can make you or brake you no matter how good or less good you truly are.
In the past here I was doing some short reviews of Blu-rays, plus few other threads where I was also a regular. I was thinking to eventually extend my reviews with more in-depth details. But few things happened since, and I decided to step out of those threads.
I am a very sociable person and have an extensive background on communication skills. I can really get into any subject at all, and I can post several posts daily. But many people judged me in the past saying that I just want to get a high post count, which of course is not the way Bob works.
I've seen it all, and I learned from it. So now I stay away of trouble and only concentrate on what I do best; get to the true Pleasure of life by learning from others and giving back. Also I simply cannot live without life mysteries and good time with people and lots of Fun with many good laughs (sense of humor). But I also luv seriousness and respect ALL people, even the ones that don't like me! It's just the way I am in real life and that's why my true friends luv me for. I am the most Peaceful type of people, but like anyone else I am also a sensitive human being. And that others are as well; so I'm now more careful with various people of such a vast variety and dimensionalities.

Reviewing Blu-ray movies, no problem here for me, I know I would be one of the top reviewer as I got a lot of experience in that matter, and on several aspects of the entire movie machine...

Same with audio/video electronic components.

But for me the real rewards are from the open forums where all people are sharing directly and openly. And I still have a lot to learn with each individual, as for me each and everyone is as important as the person that knows nothing at all.

I live life like a floating device, and let the wind decide of my future directions. The waves and the wind are my true highways. The forest and the jungles are my homes. The people are my family. And the ones that are without homes and family are the true parts of my soul, and my reason for truly living.

We all have so much to learn, and we take everything for granted. But deep down inside each one of us is a cry for love, and for freedom and for peace...
We are so simple in our simplicities, and we see much better at the surface of life than inside it. Our views are all unique and roads to the ultimate goal are ending up all at the exact same place.

What yesterday was is for some the same today and for others a totally new life.
And tomorrow don't matter at all for either both, but it does worry few.
We only learn as much as we communicate and get communicated.
And not all information is accurate or beneficial for our true well being; spiritually, and concretely. It is up to each one of us to decipher the truth behind the mask. And no one can't and no one does, but each one climb a mountain and everyone fall.

Blu-rays, high res audio & video, tomorrow, the future, wireless, 4D, 4K, and all in between before and after in the political, consumption, economic, social, and information highway world we live in is just an illusion.
We are not any longer what we believe but what we produce. And it is in a full circle of dreams that we are still functioning the way we are...

Most of the time—especially with user reviews—I'm only looking for aggregate scores, compared to how many reviews there are, total. How many stars is it? A lot? Are there a lot of reviews? Yes? It's probably good. There are too many users who don't know what they're talking about (on any site), and I don't want to take the time to sort out who's knowledgeable and who isn't. If I end up needing more info, then I'll look at the professional reviews and then maybe skim a random sample of user reviews. That's usually good enough for me.

I'd say the best reviewer is yourself. Only you recoup the true rewards of your own visual and sensorial experience, and no one has the same exact emotions.
Plus it is in the comfort of your own home with your own equipment.

Cheers,
Bob

Bob,

I hear ya man, but its not a game when i vote positive for you, you're one of the most knowledgable guy i have met on this site, youve been nothing more then kind and helpful towards me, and when i read the things you wrote its nothing but positive and very impressive, people that give you s**t about you wanting to just up your post count are jealous and clueless, and odds are very immature, there are members here that have been on this site for 6 months that have 4000 post, and most of it is just nonsense... that is the internet as im sure you know and their is no changing that.. i.e. ive made about 100 reviews towards BD's on this site and some people like what i read and some dont. and i feel that the some that dont are the ones that disagree with me on the movie itself.. which is fine, i know im one of very few that hated the Hangover so i will express my thoughts on it... i give all honest reviews, you keep doing what you're doing, dont let anybody tell you different, and i would love to see you post some reviews on the BD's you have seen, i would love to read your insight on the disk and hte movie..
