Exclamation Why can't "Heavy Rain" drop in price?

The non-PS Move edition never seems to go down the $56-59 price range and its already a year old game. It only dropped to $34.99 for about an hour as a lighting deal in Amazon once, but I didn't make it on time.

I would see this game hitting $29.99 by now but thats yet to happen

It's $34.99 used on Gamestop's website. If you have an edge card, that'll knock 10% off of it. Use code SAVER for free shipping

Sony games from what I can tell drop price when they are in the Greatest hits section (deemed by sony). Games such as Lair, Heavenly Sword, and Folklore are still $60 new because they were not put in the greatest hits section (and that they were unsuccessful). Heavy Rain is still successful enough to sell at that price (I guess), but it will be a bit before they sell it cheaper.

I hate I missed out on that Lightening Deal too! I have been waiting on a price drop for this title and will continue to do so since I have a few games I need to get to.

If it's selling at full proce, why would it? It's a great game (my favorite of last year), and now, with CNN's game of the year honor, there's even less reason to drop the price.

Heavenly Sword NOT successful? It's a beautiful game with a bunch of replay value. It still sells at $60 for a reason then, its that successful

here's a little something on how greatest hits work

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...est_Hits_games

as for heavy rain, I hate that I missed out on when gamefly had it for $20 used/free shipping..it got sold out in a couple hours..
I hate how their system works too, I was able to add one to my cart and go all the way to check out, then when I was at the final step to place order, it suddenly told me that my cart was empty and when I tried to add it back it said OOS

Well "God of War 1, 2 and 3" are all Sony Entertainment titles and even with their great high appraisals they got cheap pretty quickly. Even "Uncharted 2:Game of the Year" edition. Which would perhaps still be the best game of 2010. So...

On July 28, 2008, the program (greatest hits program) was introduced on the PlayStation 3. A PlayStation 3 game must be on the market for 10 months and sell at least 500,000 copies to meet the Greatest Hits criteria. PlayStation 3 Greatest Hits titles currently sell at $29.99.
furthermore

Quote:
Games that are multi-million sellers may become Greatest Hits titles much later than 9(PS1/PS2) (10 for the PS3) months to maximize profits.
that's why..it's also called milking the
[Show spoiler]cash
cow

just like how come mario party for the wii, mario galaxy and such still are full price, because as long as it is still selling at that price point..they don't see fit to lower the price

Just check out Craigslist in your local area, and more than likely you'll find a like new copy for $25 to $30.

Turns out Heavenly Sword was in the greatest hits section, and actually passed a million copies.

I agree.

The price difference isn't even worth buying used. What GS pays their customers for a title compared to what they charge for that title... What a rip off.

A ggod bit of Sony titles I've seen take forever to drop in price. Resistance: FOM took forever to come down in price.

LOL... The smell of the shrinkwrap alone is worth the $5.

Seriously, for that $5 you're "saving", you may get the original case and insert or you may get a plain black case with a Gamestop insert that has the title written in Sharpie on the spine. You may get the instruction manual, or you may not. The disc may have scratces, maybe not. Blah blah blah, on & on... What kills me, is that when you ask for a title, they will (usually) automatically grab a used copy, because they make a lot more on them. I always look at them like This ain't Goodwill, give me new merchandise.
