When will the Blu-ray technology be availible to Europe - Blu-ray Forum

Does anyone know when blu-ray will be availible in EU PAL, i see lots of other people saying it will be availible in 2005-2006 but i think thats US NTSC correct me if im wrong,

P.S i can proably tell this stuff will be very expensive how much blu-ray recorder and BD-CD in japanese yen

To early to tell. But sometime 2006 to coincide with the start of Sky's Hi-def service makes sense, (for Blu-Ray recorders that is). AS for players, it may depend on when the first BR films become available. However, the PS3 will have Blu-Ray playback and should be released in the UK late 2006. So we'll definitely be able to watch Blu-ray discs in 2006 even if it is only on PS3.

HDTV will come to the fully 100% in 2006 - 2007, beginning mid 2005 in Europe.

BDs... I have no idea

Well we know that Blu-Ray will be in PS3 so that should give it a head start and also means that it should be released by Early 2006 at the latest in Europe as PS3 comes out in Spring 2006

But is that in Europe. That date is more likely to be for Jap/USA. Europe traditionally fall 6 months or so behind.

Well not really the PS2 was released only a month after the US PS2 so it should be about the same again
