DB Data Utility? - Blu-ray Forum

I've downloaded the 2.10 update to my PS3 and was wondering what this is?

Is it similar to the Game Data Utility where its an initial install the first time you play the disc?

So should I go through all my Blu-Rays to see if any of them install this "Utility"?

BD Data Utility is where your PS3 stores data downloaded via Internet from Blu-rays that have BD Live (blu-ray live) compatibility. There are only a handful out right now that do support this:

John Mayer: Where The Light Is
Walk Hard
The 6th Day
etc etc.

On the bonus features menu of these discs, there is a selection for BD-Live and it will download things like deleted scenes, featurettes, trailers, etc. that were not included on the disc to your PS3. It will usually say on the back of the blu-ray case if your blu-ray disc is BD-Live enhanced.

Note: this material can be deleted from the PS3 once it is downloaded as well.
