Me as well, especially the unskippable ones that you have to fast forward through. Not once have compulsory ads induced me to buy or rent a Blu, DVD or videotape (way back in the old days). Nothing wrong with trailers as an extra feature but otherwise they're just a royal PITA

Absolutely. One thing that annoys me is the Universal blurays. I watched the BTTF Trilogy the past three days, and everytime this silly little man pops up saying what I presume would be thank you for buying an official disc. I didn't give the pipsqueak time to finish though.

Totally, I like being able to access trailers from the menu if I'm bored, but I don't need to see them every time.
I also don't like to be told that 'Piracy is a Crime' when I've bought the damn thing, or that 'Views in commentaries do not represent this studio', because I don't care. And yeah, that whole 'Knock-off Nigel' thank you thing is irritating too, especially when it looks like they've borrowed the little cartoon man from the Lloyds TSB adverts. |

Disney are big offenders of this but their trailers are usually lovely to watch. To me it harks back to rentals and trailers can date a film terribly. Imagine the dreck of trailers that went with the original VHS release of The Terminator or films 'coming soon to a theatre near you' which have been on home release for years.
Universal DVD's used to start up straight away without any warning. I know some of my BD's do the same (I think Warners Bros.) it should be standard practice. The rest should be available from the menu. |

The most annoying thing is with the anti-piracy ads, whether it was the old 'Check for the hologram' ones on VHS tapes or that stupid 'You wouldn't...' one, is that any pirate copy is going to have these removed.
It was pretty much a standard for people who used CCE/Scenarist back in the day of DVD duplication to remove all unskippable items and reauthor the menus to how they should be for the consumer. The pirate copies of a DVD original to DVD-DL would be better than the store bought version because of this. Lunacy. |

The IT Crowd take on the "You wouldn't..." trailer:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I9_hWoGrxWg I tend to use the adverts now as the time I get the beer out of the fridge, get the popcorn out of the microwave and turn off the lights. |

Disney is the worst.
I think CARS has - Coming soon to blu ray - 2 or 3 trailers Coming soon to theatres - 2 or 3 trailers Then it goes on to advertise what blu ray is and why its better. After all the fuss is over you've lost 20 minutes of your life. |
