Default Petition to Game Studios

Here's an idea, something I've thought of the last few days while debating whether or not to cancel my pre-order for the CE of LBP2 (I did, and got the regular version).

How can we get it across to the studios that they need to be more forthcoming with the specs and details of the Collector's Editions?

When God of War III Ultimate Edition was coming out there were many many people (myself included) who had no idea what the Pandora's box was going to be made of, whether it was some cheap crap, or of it was sturdy and solid. That lead me to cancel mine at the last minute (along with rumors of delays in shipping from the retailers I ordered from).

Same with the Little Big Planet 2 bookends/game ends. there's conflicting reports of whether it's cardboard or if it is just supposed to LOOK like cardboard because of the type of game it is. comments of the devs "joking" that it was cardboard (referring to the type of game I guess).

This leads many people to not have the proper info on deciding to throw down what can be in excess of a hundred bucks for some of these collector's editions. Now some people may not have trouble laying down that kinda bread, but I'm not one of those people. lol

Is it too much to have them come out and OFFICIALLY say "this is what it looks like, this is how much it weighs, this is what it's made of."?

Release a video with one of the devs unboxing it or something.

maybe I'm the only one who feels this way, but I think it would go a long way to easing minds of people who are about to throw down a lot of money on what could be cheap garbage made out to be more than it is.

I agree with you.. i woulda bought the tron CE if i knew the lightcycle was metal or glass or something, hell id buy more if i knew they were made better... like the ACB CE.. i bought the jack-in-the-box from Gamestop and although the material inside is fine. the sticker wallpaper is peeling off the cheap plastic inside the box -__-

for once im 100% with you Groo

you could always wait till they have an unboxing on youtube.

I understand what you mean though. I got the Batarang and was PO'ed when I saw it Wasn't too happy with the GOW either. Now that I think about, there isn't any CE that I liked unless it included a steelbook.

I agree with the lack of info on CE and there is also a lack of info on psn when you try to buy dlc. Sometimes there is bundles and you don't even know what is in it. LBP psp made me buy level kit which I tought was level pack...

Normally for gaming, I agree wholeheartedly with the OP. However, with LBP 2, I don't even care about the bookends... so my fully paid pre-order stands!

I usually know 1-2 months in advance in what comes in limited editions just by looking at the internet and seeing what it looks like. Sure sometimes it may look better as a pic on the internet, but for the most part, I pretty much know what i'm getting into before it comes out.

Plus of course I do love limited editions which is why I have probably 20-30 games that are in limited editions.

I wish we went back to the days of a single, standard edition of every game and no preorder rubbish. Sell any physical trinkets separately.

Aint gonna happen.

no one's stopping you from buying the regular editions. lol.

The collector in me always want the best possible edition even though I don't need it. I'm trying to break that habit.
