Please post all (obvious) anomalies you can find related to the new Similar Titles feature and we will take a look at them as soon as we can and try to adjust

I'm not quite sure it's working at all. If you type in the movie "Battle Royale", you'll get some pretty funny unrelated films.

Thanks for reporting
Since Battle Royale hasn't been released in the US, I've never looked at the entry until now, but I can see that the cause of the problem is an extreme of a bug we are already aware of and will fix shortly

Really liking the feature and all the movies I looked at didn't seem to have anything wrong with them and made good choices to picking similar movies.

I think you should focus only on the Movie score and not the Overall score. There are some good movies that have crappy transfers, so they get low Overall score, hence aren't matched.
The matching is for the movie content, not the transfer quality.

How do you make recommendations? The Universe Season 5 page should include the other other seasons, IMO.

We made a design decision for TV series to not include other seasons of the TV series... the idea was that you should already be aware of that there are other seasons of the serie and instead recommend similar movies/TV series.

We should actually make a special case/an extra case for TV series and list the other seasons in addition to the similar titles.

Ok, you can now see other seasons of the TV serie above the Similar Titles feature. Is the layout good, or would you like to change something?

Battle Royale bug patched, not sure if the results are the best though, but we are working on another significant improvement as well.

you should make avatar link to dances with wolves, and vice versa, since they are basically the same story

Do you think people who like one of them will like the other? Dances with Wolves is more drama oriented, while Avatar is more action oriented. While the stories are very similar, I still think they are different enough to attract different crowds, but we will dig more into that

I really like the Similar Titles feature, but there are way too many unrelated titles whenever I click on Region B movies that I own. Plus I get recommendations for titles that I already own.
For example, similar titles I'd suggest for Mega Piranha (2010) (Region B):

Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus (2009)
Dinocroc vs. Supergator (2010)
2010: Moby Dick (2010)
Wyvern (2009)
Monsterkino (Mega Piranha (2010), 100 Million BC (2008), Monster (2008))
Infestation (2009)
AVH: Alien vs. Hunter (2007)
Bear (2010)

etc

Maybe there should be an option for contributors to add similar, proper titles?

USA Filter out wishlist titles??

Is there a way to filter out Wishlist/Owned titles from the similar titles section? The feature is great, it would be even more better if it didn't show you titles already owned or listed in our wishlist.

USA Gratitude... and another suggestion

First, thanks for the prompt reply to my last suggestion and also the speediness as to which the functionality was implemented.

Second, this may not be a new suggestion or maybe this functionality is already present (I just can't find it), but is there a way to remove items from the recommended/similar titles section? So for instance, if Harry Potter (just an example) is listed in the similar section and it appears over and over again in my browsing, it would be awesome if I could mark it off as "not interested" and never see it again in the similar titles section, which would in turn open the section up to even more films.

Of course, if I selected "not interested" for Harry Potter, removing other titles similar to the one where the HP film was suggested would not be wise. All other functionality/similarities would stay the same just no more HP.

Know what I mean? Just a thought.

Thanks!

whenever i adds covers for a certain release it takes a lot of times for the cover of that particular title to be shown on another movies site while some movies have no problems in showing that added cover right away

This is a caching problem, example: if you update the cover for The Matrix it will be updated immediately, but when you look at the movie profile for The Matrix Reloaded and its' Similar Titles, the cover for The Matrix will not have been updated. This is because The Matrix Reloaded will need to be recached as well and it is not done immediately when you submit a cover for The Matrix.

I hope I make sense

here's the problem. when I'm in the theatrical entry of a movie, I can't navigate to any similar title. when I click on it it gives me a 404 Error. this has been happening for as long as I've been trying to access this feature.

btw the 'similar title's' link misses the master ID

for example
