There are a ton of movies that aren't on Blu-ray. To single out this particular one is meaningless. They can only produce BDs so fast, and various titles are staggered for particular promotional reasons, and so they aren't competing with their own products. Blade will surely be on BD eventually.

Are there any extras included? Most of the time Canadian releases are movie only... And how's the image quality?

^^^ I read that only one of the movies has the wrong OAR. I forget which one (the first one?).
Between that and the lack of extras, I'm holding out for a US box set release. But if push comes to shove, I might get the Canadian BDs and use 2 or 3 disc cases to include the US DVDs I own with them as well. |

There is a Blade trilogy set here in Canada. Amazon.ca as it for $29 and I believe Future Shop as it even cheaper then that or at least had it as a sale for a while at $25 or something.
Have not seen them so I can't say what they look like. |

New Line should have released them but they remain the only Marvel Superhero movies that haven't been released to Blu-ray and that's a crying shame.
However, I haven't purchased the Blade trilogy from Canada because I heard that the aspect ratio on one of the movies isn't the correct aspect ratio, that it was edited for the Blu-ray release at a different aspect ratio. |

The trilogy that was released up here are in the wrong aspect ratio. They've been zoomed in for a 1:78:1 and because of that, the resolution is not very impressive at all. These films should be at... I forget which off the top of my head, like 2:35 or 2:39.

Okay... the DVD clamshells list 2:35:1 on all three releases. The Blu-Rays list 1:78:1 on the first two. I didn't bother with the third after seeing these two but I have to assume it is the same. I have these in front of me right now so I am confirming these ratios.

Blade---1.78:1 cropped and zoomed from the orginal 2.35:1 ration Blade 2 ---1.78:1 which IS the original aspect ratio... it was done by Del Toro who pretty much only shoots in 1.85:1 or 1.78:1... The dvd is the same. if it says 2.35:1 on it it's a misprint Blade Trinity is 2.35:1 which is in it's original aspect ratio. Only the 1st movie got it's AR butchered. |
