Panny BD30 HDMI into a Marantz SR7002. OMG! The love, ohhhh the love. Fianlly digital sound done correctly (lossless)! Enjoy the new player.

To me, having a profile 1.1 player is HUGE - I want to be able to access all the bonus features on upcoming movies.

The only player you listed that is profile 1.1 is the Panasonic BD30, as far as I know. From what I've read, players that are 1.0 will not be upgradable to 1.1 with firmware.

All of this, of course, doesn't even address the forthcoming profile 2.0 (BD-Live), which none of these players will be capable of (because they don't meet the hardware requirements).

Why anyone would spend MORE money to buy a player that takes longer to load and has less functionality than the PS3, I will never understand. And yes, while the PS3 is currently profile 1.1, it does meet the hardware requirements for profile 2.0.

It recognizes them all. The first time I played a movie with DTSMA, I had to use the Onkyo's remote to select DTSMA, but once I did that it automatically worked from then on. Same with the other audio formats.

Ps3 cant be beat! when its able to PCM out DTS-HDMA its game over! To bad it cant Bit-it out , but if everything sounds like PCM through the Ps3 life will be A-O-K with just a Ps3 as your player

i dont think the pats will have any problem pulling out a 16-0 season this year. they had a few tough games the past 4 weeks and a few lucky ones, but i will take it for sure. i think the pats and either dallas or green bay will be the ones at the bowl

Personally I am no longer a fan of football. But am more of a sport historian. And it might sound sad but it would look better on the team from the point of history if they lost one game so the perfect season does not come into play.

NAAAA, I Think they are good. they dont need to prove anything to anyone. they have 3 superbowl wins in 4 years and another one on the way. when all said and done i dont think game 1 against the jets will ever matter down the road.

look at the colts when the played the pats, they had cranked up crowd noise in the speakers to distract the pats from hearing and they denied it. Sure the nfl says they investigated, but what really happened?? they got away with it!!!!

thank you for that. i have very much enjoyed this season.

i am hoping some other NE teams will do well. the celtics are doing fantastic as well and the bruins are doing pretty good. it would be incredible if the pats win and the celts win with the red sox already winning.

wow your head is rock solid isnt it? Can the PS3 output PCM audio to receivers without HDMI? Can the PS3 bitstream TrueHD or DTSHD to new receivers that can decode it? No. oh but firmware upgrades! So what, it does not do those things NOW and it will never do the first one. For audiophiles, a newer stand alone is the way to go until the PS3 can BITSTREAM all new audio formats. And dont try to give me that the ps3 can decode TrueHD crap because it sounds 10 times better if your receiver is doing the decoding. Get the Panny BD30.
